Timeline: a bit after they met and Ash's mom said (rocka)bye (I'm so funny)Enjoy:)
"This is my dorm, please make yourself feel at home."
Brook, the ocean hair boy spoke up unlocking his door. He smiled as he got in and looked at Ash who was walking in nervously.
After their interaction at the beach. Brook knew the new individual he met needed company. And as much as he needed to study, for this time he invited Ash over to his place so he can make the boy feel better for what has happened to his mother.
"Uhm.. thank you Brook." Ash looking around. "It looks.. nice." He thought to himself. Brook's room was organised perfectly. Comparing to his dorm room, there weren't books laying around randomly. "You're a organised person I see." He said to the man beside him.
"Oh yeah, I learned my mistake when I kept triping around the clothes and books I had on the floor." Brook said chuckling nervously.
Ash felt a small smile creep up on him. He unlocked his arms that were crossing together. "Funny how last week i almost broke my nose from tripping on a book." Ash said scratching the back of his neck nervously.
Brook uttered for a second. Raising a eyebrow and chuckled. "Well I can see your nose looks fine to me so I must say you're okay now?" Brook asked giving a sly look.
Ash only nodded while smiling. Quite warmly but also with a hint of nervously.
"I'm still intact sooooo."
"Great to hear."After the boys finished taking off their shoes they decided to head to the kitchen. Ash sat on those high chairs and Brook went to make something to drink.
"Do you like tea?" Brook asked opening the cabinet to see a stash of tea. Ash perked up. His mind was wandering around the memories of he and his mother. "Oh yes, I do." Ash responded smiling. Brook nodded and took it out.
Brook began to boil the water that was in the tea kettle. He turned around to see Ash looking down. Feeling bad, eyebrows frowning, he saw Ash's dull expression.
He felt a similar feeling. Losing someone you loved breaks a big part of you. Especially the one who believed in you more than your parents.
"So, anything you like to do?" He asked trying to light up the mood. Ash once again raised a eyebrow and looked up. Putting a hand under his chin he began to think.
"Well, I like to write songs and play the guitar." Ash said looking back to the blue haired boy.
"You write songs? That's.. actually pretty cool." Brook said crossing his arms and leaned backwards on the counter.
Ash hummed at this. Smiling a little and felt pretty flattered. "I also make wood sculpture." He said smiling up. "Woah." Brook said in clear admiration. "That takes dedication! I must say I'm impressed." Brook said his eyes sparkling a little.
Ash felt his cheeks heat up. Feeling flattered from the boy infront of him. "Thank you." Were the only words that came out of him.
Brook was about add something else being a certain tea-kettle decided to scream out scaring the absolute shit out of the boys.
"GOODNESS GRACIOUS-" Brook yelled turning around and backed away. Ash got surprised but he then laughed out of loud.
Brook turned his head around to see Ash laughing. His cheeks feeling warm from embarrassment.
Ash after calmed down went to go check on it. "Welp, looks like it's ready." Ash smiled, still chuckling a bit from Brook's scream. "Ah great," Brook replied after relaxing himself after tea-kettle situatio. "Here let me make it for you." Ash replied smilling.
Brook watched every move of his, questioning to himself if he does this regularly. "Hey, do you- perhaps work in a café? Because you're doing this quite fast-" Brook said smiling while looking at him with concern. Ash perked up at this and sighed.
"Yes, I do but maybe if weren't for the bunch of Karens screaming at me to hurry up then my muscle memory wouldn't have been there in the first place." Ash spat out, rolling his eyes in anger.
"Oh Karens." Brook spoke up with a unamused expression. He hugged his stomach and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Karens." Ash also repeated angrily.
"They're annoying. They scream like seagulls if we don't hurry up." Ash replied starting to rant. Brook held back his laughter. "If you work in a café then I'll believe you." The ocean haired man said with a warm expression. Ash gave one back.
(I literally don't know how tea-kettles works)
A few moments later...
After they spoke about a few things while they were drinking. They managed to get a few chuckles out of both of them. Which, honestly both needed it.
Brook studied way too much earlier. He was tired and needed a break from everything. Especially about the phone call he made with his father a few days ago, who said he'll always disappoint him if he doesn't improve in Starlight Academy and it made him have a breakdown. But after it, a good walk on the beach and meeting a new friend made him feel better about everything, perhaps, there was going to be hope.
To Ash, we all know what happened.
"So, wanna swap numbers?" Brook asked when Ash was about to head out. Ash perked up from where he was tiring his shoe and smiled. "Yeah! Give me some moment." He replied looking back down to tie his shoes. "No worries." Brook responded quite chill about it.
As Ash got back up, he took out his phone and began saying what was his phone number.
"Does that mean we're friends?"
The brown haired boy asked the blue haired boy smiling quite warmly. Brook looked up after putting Ash's number in his phone in his pocket and smiled nodded while smilling.
"Yeah, I would consider us now friends!"
Brook replied happily, well still trying to contain the burst of joy he had in his chest. One friend wouldn't mind right? Still, his main focus is to study but he can have one friend.
Ash eyes widened at him, even if they had a fun talk, he never expected to have a friend like Brook as his. He chuckled warmly at Brook which the mentioned also chuckled back.
Ash then went to open the door. Brook was about to head out until Ash stopped in his tracks and looked back.
"Hey, I want to say... thank for tonight, it made me feel alot better to be honest."
Brook looked back and paused. A bit shocked but then smiled warmly once again.
"Of course. Everyone deserves comfort. I don't do discrimination here."
Ash smiled with warmth filling his heart before he waved bye at Brook. The boy nodded and waved back.
"See you soon Ash!"
This was perhaps the star of a blue and green star.
