As we entered the police station, there were two gates closed on either side of the foyer, meaning one thing. The outbreak had made its way inside. Crates which I assumed were once full of supplies were now empty and placed carelessly around the room. The tile floor was covered in bloodied footprints.
"Hello..? Is anybody there!" Leon' voice echoed throughout the vast entryway. But to no surprise, there was no response. To my right I noticed a healing spray to the right of us on one of the medical containers and was quick to put it in my pocket.
"Hey, Grace. Come check this out." Leon was hovered behind the front desk, there was laptop which had the R.P.D. logo on it. I walked over to the desk as fast as I could while Leon pulled up the cameras.
"There has to be someone here." Both of us were concentrating hard on the cameras in front of us, if anyone was there one of us was going to see them.
"There, on cam 4! Someone is running through the corridor." I pointed to the camera as someone started shooting one of the infected. Leon clicked on the camera so we could see what was happening better.
"This isn't good..." Leon mumbled. I had no idea where this camera was located, so we could only hope that he would tell us an idea of where he was. Leon switched to camera 3 as the man went out of view.
"David, Marvin! You there?" The man sounded tired, his breathing heavy as if he'd been running a half marathon.
"I found a way out! It's in here." The man pulled out a notebook and held it up to the camera before putting it away to pull out his gun, shooting an infected in the process. That didn't stop the infected though as it continued lunging for the man, effectively catching him in its grasp. The man broke free of the infected's hold before looking to the camera once more.
"Send reinforcements! East Hallway!" He yelled before disappearing off screen. Leon pulled up the location of the hallway and we wasted no time as we headed east, only to be met with the closed shutter.
"I think this lever opens the door." I stood near the latch that said pull, Leon gave me the go ahead to pull it. The light soon flashed green, and the gate began to rise, only to stop a few inches off the ground. Enough for someone to fit if they crawled through.
"You stay here while I go find this guy, I'll yell if I need you to come." Leon told me.
"What are you insane! What ever happened to strength in numbers? There're too many things that are out to kill us, you saw what that guy was up against, and he was alone! I'm going with you." I didn't like arguing, but this rescue mission he was about to do was suicide.
"1. You don't have a gun and 2. I'd rather you stay here just in case anymore survivors walk in the door, or who come to the foyer. If there's one officer here, there might be more." Leon made a good point.
"Fine, but you better come back in one piece, I don't need to be in this shitty situation by myself. You said we were going to be partners, so you better keep true to that." I gave a small pout as he got on the ground to crawl under.
"I promise, wouldn't want anyone else to get a piece of you before I get the chance." Leon gave me a wink and a cocky smirk before crawling under the gate.
"Like I said take me out to dinner first!" I raised my voice enough for him to hear. I heard him stand up on the other side of the gate and give a chuckle, his footsteps disappearing as he got further into the east side. In the meantime, I looked for anything I could use as a weapon, for a police station there wasn't much here that I could use as a means of defense.
