Leon and I made our way up to the showers, where we placed the valve and turned it to stop the steam. We both had our guard up since this was a new area we were exploring, after seeing that thing crawl across the window we were both a little on edge.

"Wait, get behind me" Leon whispered, holding out his arm to stop me from going in front of him. I gave him a questioning look, and he pointed his gun at an infected sitting on the bench. Giving him a nod we both continued forward but at a slower pace. As we neared the infected it looked like it wasn't going to move anytime soon and relaxed our guard.

"Let's see, what's all useful in here...AHH SHIT!" I tripped on the infected's foot causing me to land on my ass, the infected landing on top of me with a heavy thud.

"Grace!" Leon called out, rushing over to throw the body off of me. "Are you okay? You didn't get hurt right?" He checked my body for any injuries, and I couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Why are you laughing? You could've been hurt."

"I'm okay, it just startled me was all, and you look cute when you're concerned." I gave him a wink before placing my hand on his shoulder, using it as leverage to push myself back on my feet. I heard Leon pout and grumble to himself behind me, making me give a small smile. "Let's keep moving, okay? We still need to find those last two medallions." Leon nodded and we went through the door in front of us.

The windows were busted, and the fast-blowing wind made the heavy rain pour in through the windows. It was hard to hear over all the noise but we both heard a deafening screech.

"D.did you hear that?" I whispered to Leon. He didn't respond, only motioning to look in front of him. "Holy shit..." There was a creature crawling on top of the wall, a long tongue escaping from its mouth to pierce the body below it before eating it. It was a revolting sight, one that I can't even begin to explain. 'This must be the licker mentioned in the note from earlier' I stood there in horror as I watched the monster eat the corpse. It wasn't until Leon shook me that I came to my senses.

"Grace, we have to keep moving, just be quiet. Small steps, there's a door right there." He pointed just to the left, a little ahead of where we were now. "All we have to do is get through that, okay?" Giving him a curt nod, we decided to move forward, him ultimately moving faster than me. For some reason this thing was affecting me more than I thought it would. I mean I've seen 'zombies' in movies and stuff, but things like this? never.

The licker had decided to jump down, landing right in front of us with a loud thud, its claws chipping into the delicate wood beneath them. Leon quickly walked through the door, but I stood there paralyzed. 'I'm really gonna die here, aren't I.' I shut my eyes as tight as I could, not wanting to watch as this thing ripped me apart... I felt it's tongue slide against my forearm, and as it got ready to launch there's was a loud bang along with a bright light, and I was being pulled into Leon's chest.

"Holy shit Grace, you can't freeze up like that." Leon's hot breath made contact with the curve between my neck and shoulder, making me give a small shiver as his grip around me got tighter.

"I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me..." I didn't dare speak above a whisper, just in case that thing could get through here.

"It's okay but promise me next time you won't freeze up like that. You remember what Marvin said, no hesitation. You shoot or you run." Leon quoting Marvin made me remember what we were fighting for once more. It's not only our lives at risk but his, and God knows how many others.
