JAMIE'S POV
I'm a bit disappointed of myself. I can't give the only thing that would make Cole genuinely happy. But she keeps on assuring me that Julia and I are enough for her. Despite of that, I'm still desperate to give her a son.
I was planning to do a surrogacy just so I can give her what she actually wanted. But the doctor told me that my right ovary isn't even creating egg cells. So it's really not functioning at all. And that's making me frustrated about myself.
Good thing I have my Julia. The joy of my life. She's the one who's keeping Cole and I to stay together. She's the foundation of our relationship.
"Julia, your mom is the one who would drive you to school for today, ok? Aral mabuti anak." Cole said to our daughter.
"Why po? You need to go to review center ulit?" Julia ask her curiously.
"Yes, sweetheart." Cole answered. "I gotta go, anak. Daddy's gonna be late."
"Bye, daddy. Ingat po." Julia.
"Bye my dearest." She replied giving Julia a forehead kiss. "Bye, honey. Ingat kayo." She told me then gave me a kiss before leaving.
Umalis na rin kami para ihatid ko na si Julia. Pagdating namin, nakasalubong pa namin yung kinukwento n'ya sa daddy n'ya kagabi.
"Nicolo! Nadia!" Julia shouts their name.
They both rushed towards my daughter. It is really pleasing to watch the kids getting along with each other. Upon looking at them, napansin kong kahawig nga ng batang lalaki si Cole. Which makes me envious of him. Julia didn't even got any of Cole's feature. But this kid, who's not even related to her, ay kamuka n'ya.
I know it's not right to hold grudge against an innocent kid. But I can't help it. Lalo lang akong nanlulumo at naawa about me and my daughter. Even though Cole already gave me her words that she loves me and her daughter. I know she would love us even more if we had a son.
"Hi. You're Julia's mom?" A woman approached me. She's with the twin.
"Y-yes." Nauutal pa ang sagot ko dahil sa gulat.
"You look young. How old are you?" She ask again.
"Twenty-eight." Is my short answer.
"Oh. Just four years younger than me." She said then smile. "By the way, I'm Yzabel. Nicolo and Nadia's mom." Pagpapakilala n'ya sa sarili.
"I'm Jamie." We shook hands. Out of curiosity, I asked about her son. "Your son definitely looks like his father, isn't he?"
"Definitely. Nadia looks like me, but Nicolo looks like his father." Sambit n'ya sa medyo malungkot na boses. Her confusing tone and expression picks up my curiosity.
"You... Sounds sad when you said that."
"Ah... Yes. My twin never get to see their father. We got separated even before I discovered that I'm pregnant." Sadness starts to draw in her face. "I don't know how would I tell them about it."
"Didn't you at least tried to reach their father? So that they can get to know him."
"Him? It's her actually. Anyways, their father is in the Philippines. Living her life peacefully. And it was my choice to break up with her and move away." Yzabel.
Her? That leaves a lot of question to me. So her former partner were also an intersex person. And she's from the Philippines too. Crazy coincidences. These gives me weird feelings for some reason.
"Pilipino ka rin ba?"
"Oh? Hahahaha. Didn't thought of that. Oo." Yzabel.
"Mommy." Julia interrupts our conversation. "Pasok na po tayo sa loob. Nicolo, Nadia, tara na."
Yzabel and I kept talking while walking through the hallway papunta sa classroom ng mga bata. She told me that her twin's last name is hers since her former partner was not there when she gave birth to them. She also didn't know that she got Yzabel pregnant.
She almost shared everything to me. Except her former partner's name. I guess she's keeping it for her own privacy. Since she told me that their relationship almost ruined both of their lives. I don't know why but I'm so invested about their relationship. Like I want to know more about them and their past.
"I named my twins after our initial. Nadia Yvonne and Nicolo Yzekiel." Yzabel.
I also shared things with her. Like my partner is also an intersex person and why I'm only twenty-eight and already have an eight years old daughter.
"So you were still at college nung nabuntis ka at kinasal?" Yzabel.
"Yes. That's the reason why my spouse's surname ang gagamitin ko once I passed licensure exam. Kaya I will be Dra. Jamie Beatrice Alberto-Somera."
"Somera?" Yzabel.
"Yes. Why?"
"It just sounds familiar. I think I had student before, sa Pilipinas, na Somera din yung surname." Paliwanag n'ya.
"Baka si Cole yun. 'Di ba law professor ka sa Pilipinas?"
"C-cole?" She looks so surprised sa sinabi kong pangalan. I'm now starting to get curious kung bakit kanina pa parang nagugulat sa mga sinasabi. Hindi ba n'ya ine-expect yung kwento ko or what?
N/A: Short update. Nilapag ko na agad bago pa ko tamarin AHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAH. By the way, Yzekiel is pronounced as I-ZEK-YEL. Just in case 'di n'yo alam pa'no basahin.
