I don't care what anybody thinks of me,
Not anymore.
I'll do and say what I like,
And that's what I swore.
I won't hold back,
no not anymore.
I'll wear all black,
And scream when I have the floor.
But that all falls apart when you look at me,
All my progress is undone,
I only worry about what you see,
You're the only one.
You're the only person that could make me cry,
You're my biggest flaw
Your opinion matters to me, that's why I try
To leave you in awe.
I try to filter out every bad part,
But I'm not sure what's bad to you,
I only ever speak from my heart,
That's why I don't let anything through.
If I don't speak to you, does that make me rude in your eyes?
If I pretend to be something you'd like, does that mean you like lies?
Is biting your toung 'till it bleeds the same as getting butterflies?
This is why I don't like you, you've led to my demise.
I don't care what anybody thinks of me anymore,
But you are the only exception.
That's why I'm fucking terrified of you.
You could destroy me.

There's a Paramore song called "the only exception" and I probably stole the title from that.
The poem is about holding yourself to a higher standard in front of one person because their opinion somehow matters more to you than anyone else's.
It was also written about someone very specific but I don't think they'd read this, plus they wouldn't know I'm talking about them.
I don't really like this poem but I haven't written in ages so I need to get back into it. :]
