Chapter 15

"holy shit!" he screeched falling off his chair, I kissed him on the cheek. "now where is my dragon?" I asked him and he sighed before getting up and leading me out of his tent and through a labyrinth of cages, tents and dragons.

Soon we reached a barred in cave, in which I'm guessing had my dragon in it. I sighed glaring slightly at Charlie, he held his hands up in surrender. I walked into the cave cautiously.

I soon found her at the back of the cave, wrapped around her eggs. She sniffed when I got closer and lifted her eyes to look at me "Joxie Chaos, meaning scales the chaos bringer." I told her and she picked her head up, bringing her tail out and picking me up. She perched me on her shoulder and nuzzled her head against me.

A while later she had fallen asleep with me nuzzled up with her eggs. I had fallen asleep with her but woke up when I heard a sound at the entrance of the cave.

Getting up I went behind joxie careful not to wake her. It was probably nothing but I got a bad feeling from whoever just came into the cave.

I watched as a man in his thirties crept into the cave and snuck up to the eggs. He reached out to grab one when I flicked my wand at him yelling 'stupify!'. He flew back and crashed into the wall. Joxie jolted awake and started growling, I soothed her before taking the mans wand and turning to joxie "don't let him leave girl, but don't kill him ok love?" she nodded and I ran out of the cave and through the camp. "CHARLIE HELP!!!" I screamed on the top of my lungs and within seconds I was surrounded by big men with wands and Charlie.

I grabbed ahold of Charlie's shirt and started running to jinxies cave. Pulling him through the bars and all the men following behind us I let go of Charlie and bolted to the back of the cave where I saw the man just waking up and joxie standing protectively in front of her eggs.

I bolted through her legs and to her eggs, picking up and inspecting every one. I was begging to calm down as I saw no harm came to the eggs, but then I got to the last one. I set it down and roared with anger, sounding scarily like joxie. Everyone looked at me confused as I got up. I calmly walked over to the man and with no warning attacked him.

I was pulled off by two of the men who came with us and Charlie stood in front of me. "Marley hun what is wrong?" he questioned and I lost it.

"HE CAME INTO HER CAVE AND WAS ATTEMPTING TO TAKE HER EGGS!! THEIF!! HE WAS GOING TO TAKE HER BABIES!!" I screamed and the sound echoed around the cave. The men let me go and picked the guy up roughly dragging him out of the cave and I hope to an electric chair somewhere.

I felt a nudge on my back and turned to see joxie nosing one of her eggs, pushing it towards me. "what joxie?" I questioned and Charlie stepped up beside me. "I think she wants you to take one of her eggs to look after and raise." He told me and I saw joxie bob her head up and down, saying yes.

"am I aloud?" I asked Charlie and he nodded, "we will give you a license to care for one, if you accept, but you have to give me updates on the baby at least once a week." He told me and I nodded smiling, "how long till it hatches?" I questioned "it should be hatching within the next two days." He said after thinking for a moment. I smiled and picked up the egg kissing it and looking up to joxie, "ill come visit jox I promise." I told her and she nuzzled me again before pushing me out the door slightly.

I chuckled before Charlie and I made our way out of the cave. "you'll be good with it from your time here, just remember they usually eat raw meat. Sometimes it will eat cooked meet but very rarely and a lot of it can make them sick. Any questions?" he asked and I giggled happy, "how do I tell if it's a boy or girl?" I asked and he chuckled, "if it's a boy it will be a darker shade and if it's a girl it will be lighter. Sometimes in this breed the girls will be pitch black, and if this one is, it'll have some special powers." He told me smiling, "all the special ones have healing abilities, able to bring someone back from the dead if its within a week of them dying. And no it doesn't matter if they have a body, or any remains at all. They all also have the ability to breath not only fire but ice as well. Don't worry about that part, when they are young they can only coat a surface in ice and they can't form the fire yet." He told me handing me a backpack to put the egg in and giving me a license to be able to care for my dragon. I hugged him after I put the egg in the bag and sticking my license in my pocket I disapparated back to my house.
