Chapter 19

The day was finally done, and we had just finished eating dinner when a Slytherin boy came up to me. "Professor Snape would like to see you in his office." He told me before walking away, I got up and made my way to Snape's office to test my potion.

Stopping at the door I knocked and waited briefly until he told me to enter, walking in he told me to lie down and take a minor sleeping drought to put me to sleep for about a half an hour.

I drank it and was asleep within seconds.

Snape's pov

I watched as she drank the sleeping drought, her newly emotionless eyes falling closed seconds after setting the vile down. I already knew what I was going to find out in her dreams, I want to know why she's been so cold and emotionless.

Downing the potion she made perfectly I waited for the link to form so that I could enter her mind before I closed my eyes and leaned back into my chair.

Entering her mind I saw that I was in a room, but it was too dark to see anything other than the two chairs facing a screen. Marley was sitting in one, so I sat in the other, "go ahead, whatever you want to see will appear on the screen." She told me her voice even sounded dead in here.

I focused on the screen and an image started forming, the great hall she was sitting and laughing with potter, ganger and the weasleys. The owls flew in and she opened a letter from her friends first, then like a skip on a movie it froze and skipped to the last bit of the letter.

'Jake- I am writing you last because I want to tell you something that the other three wouldn't approve of because they want him to tell you. I don't think he's ever going to tell you, because that's just how he is. But first, I love you so much and I miss you like crazy, I can not wait for you to come home. But before they catch me writing this, I'm sorry baby girl, but Ashley cheated on you. It was the night before he got your letter, we had just got done playing a show and he got drunk (I know that's no excuse) and took one of our fans back to the bus. I really am sorry baby girl, write me separately and we can talk about it but I got to go. Love you.'

It ended with her putting the letters in her bag and storming out of the great hall.

The next image was of her in a muggle town walking away from what I'm guessing is her house and heading to a park. This must be when she was suspended.

The images kept skipping, her sitting on the swings.

Her climbing a tree and laying on the highest branch she could.

Her talking on the phone with the jake boy, telling him she would be home soon.

Her talking to an unknown boy named kyle and buying some type of drug off of him.

Her drinking and smoking the entire time she was home.

Her brother and friends sad faces when she would ignore them, her feelings when they didn't apologize and just expected her to forgive them all.

Her parents and her fighting, and finally Christmas morning giving each other their presents.

I snapped back to reality when she woke up, staring emotionlessly at me as if to say 'are you satisfied now?' I nodded slightly "you may go" I told her and watched as she rose from the couch and walked out emotionlessly.
