Chapter 25

The months seemed to fly by, I had taken my owls and I was now preparing for the final task. It was only a week away, but I feel like people are keeping something from me. McGonagall avoids me like the plague, Harry has this weird shine in his eyes whenever he sees me that also applies to all my other friends, Dumbledore keeps sending me these weird glances and grins. Even the band, mum, dad, molly and Arthur are acting weird. The band wont write to me, mum and dad wont reply to my last letter and neither will molly or Arthur.

Honestly it is kind of putting me off my game. I keep wondering about what the hell is going on and I can't concentrate on my fucking spells. I've ended up in the whomping willow more than once because a spell backfired on me.

That is not fun let me tell you, I had to spend three days in the hospital wing each time it happened. I just hope that I figure out why they are acting so weird before the final task or I could wind up dead.

The final task is tomorrow, I still haven't figured out what is wrong with everyone so Iliana and I just kinda keep to ourselves lately.

Currently we were sitting down by the whomping willow. I was reading a book, 'advanced defensive and offensive spells', and Iliana was trying to catch some sprites in a nearby flower patch.

"hey black!" a voice yelled and I looked up to see Malfoy, Crabe and Goyle walking towards me.

I groaned "what do you want Malfoy? I'm busy and every time you open your mouth you lower the IQ of the school" I drawled out.

"I just wanted to tell you that my father and I have a bet going on" he announced with a smug smile on his face.

"oh yeah?" I questioned in a bored voice, he nodded. "see I think you wont last for ten minutes in the task tomorrow. He disagrees, he doesn't think you'll last five." He cackled and I rolled my eyes.

"well he seriously is stupid then, because he saw what I could do at the world cup. To bad it wasn't him who spoke up, I would have really enjoyed kicking his ass." I bit out and I could see malfoy's face getting red from anger.

"how dare you, you filthy blood traitor! Your just as bad as that no good god brother of yours and that mudblood he's always around." He spat out and I could feel the anger, it was like fire in my veins.

I stood up and started for him, his two goons seeing this yelled for him to watch out and bolted away as fast as their chubby legs could carry them.

I cackled and gripped Malfoy by his bleach blonde hair and started dragging him over to the whomping willow. I stopped just out of reach of it's branches and pulled Malfoy up so he was standing straight up. "miss black!" I heard a female voice shout, I ignored her and shoved him towards the tree.

The tree immediately lashed out, swinging it's branches trying to crush Malfoy. I smirked crossing my arms as I watched him scramble around trying to get away. "miss black! What are you doing?!" I heard the same female voice shriek.

I turned my head and saw professor McGonagall rushing forwards. She was flanked by five guys dressed in black, "he started it, and I am not getting him out until you punish him for his foul mouth and traitorous actions." I told her and she sighed.

"what did he do now?" she questioned sighing, I rolled my eyes.

"you know what fine." I pulled out my wand "silencio" I shouted pointing my wand at Malfoy. "problem solved." I deadpanned before stepping towards the tree.

"Miss black!" she yelled and I could see the fear in her eyes. "step away from the tree before you get hurt!" she tried ushering me away from the tree but I just kept walking. It wouldn't hurt me, I never seems to hurt me when I'm around it.

I strode over to Malfoy gripping him by the hair again and dragging him away from the thrashing limbs. Once I deemed it safe I dropped him to the ground. "there, not a scratch on his majesties head." I bit out bitterly before walking away from her.

3rd person pov.

Andy, CC, Jinxx, Jake and Ashley watched as Marley pulled the blonde boy away from the tree by his hair. She seemed different, darker, to them. "what did you do to her?" Jake questioned Ashley harshly. "she- you know what your not even worth it." He glared at Ashley before chasing after Marley.

Ashley sighed watching after them, jake was right. She seemed different, her attitude more harsh and foul. Her whole demeanor seemed meaner, scarier. And he didn't know how to fix any of it, he really didn't mean to cheat on her. He loved her so much, it just kind of happened. He was falling apart after she left and couldn't help but to go out and get completely wasted. He barely remembers what happened that night after he started drinking at the bar.

Normal pov

I walked back up to the castle Iliana trailing behind me. "Marley!" Jake shouted as he ran after me.

I paused in my walking so he could catch up with me. "hey jake." I greeted him pleasantly wrapping my arms around him. "hey gurrrlll." He drew out hugging me back hard.

"seriously?" I questioned and he grinned, "never talk like that ever again." I scolded him pinching his chest.

He laughed swatting at my hand, I laughed before linking my arm with his and started walking to the school. "where are we headed?" a voice questioned behind us.

I turned my head slightly to see Ashley, Andy, CC and Jinxx following behind us. "I need to go speak to my headmaster, he has some explaining to do." I told them.
