Skeppy sat on the edge of the bed, shaking and breathing anxiously. "I can't!" He cried.
Bad was holding his phone in his hands, wanting to call the police. "Okay, well we don't have to do it now. We're already stressed..." Bad put his phone down. "But promise me we will do it soon? Or I can do it on my own when you feel ready to confront them."
Skeppy nodded and bounced his legs. "Just not now, I'm scared. I don't want to do it yet."
"Okay." Bad rubbed his shoulders. "Breathe Skeppy, breathe." Bad held his hands and squeezed them, trying to ground Skeppy. "Are you really this scared?"
"Yeah..."
Bad kissed his forehead. "It's gonna be okay, just keep breathing and focus on me. We won't do anything right now, not until you're ready."
"I-I'm just scared. What if they do hurt us? T-they know where we live." Skeppy rubbed his face in his sleeve.
"It's okay." Bad whispered and moved to hold Skeppy. "You know I always got you, I'll do whatever I can for you."
"We have each other." Skeppy sniffled. "Always, right?"
"Yes." Bad kissed Skeppy on the cheek, then the temple, then the lips. "Always."
Bad's phone started ringing.
"Is that the police?"
"No, don't be silly. It's the daycare." Bad answered. "Hello...Yes, this is him...what?" Bad lowered the phone. "Skeppy... everything's okay but someone tried to check Hani out of the daycare." Bad was boiling over with anxiety but per usual, he had to hold everything together for Skeppy's sake.
🚗🚗🚗
"Fuck this, we're never doing this again." Skeppy strapped Hani into her car seat with tears in his eyes. Bad was in the front seat, calling the police. Skeppy rubbed his baby's face and sniffled. Hani sniffled too. "It's okay baby, we got you. I will kill the next one that tries something." Skeppy went quiet so Bad could talk on the phone.
When Bad hung up, he sighed in relief. But it was only temporary relief. "They are sending out some cars to look for a white sedan. Irene from the daycare is going to speak to them, give them a definition of the man."
Skeppy nodded he was still stood with the door open, watching his daughter. Like aliens were going to beam her away if he stopped looking. "This is fucked...why do we always have all this crazy shit happening? Leave it up to us to get roped into some weird trafficing scheme."
"Us?" Bad looked back. "You're the one that didn't say a thing about your sketchy Job. You're the one that didn't tell me how bad work was."
"You're blaming me?!" Skeppy couldn't believe it. "Me?!"
Bad was too stressed to hold back any longer. "Well you were the one working for sketchy people. You should of noticed something a lot sooner!"
"Okay so it's all my fault then." Skeppy unclipped Hani and pulled her out of the car seat. "We'll just leave you alone then, since everything is my fucking fault." Skeppy slammed the door and started walking.
Bad jumped out of the car and followed him. "Where are you going?!"
"I'm going to walk home." He huffed, holding Hani tight as she whined. "Do not follow me."
Bad followed him. "You think I'm letting you walk alone when there's people out there that want to kidnap our daughter?"
"Fine, take the baby." Skeppy handed Hani over. He was mad, but he still trusted Bad endlessly. "Just leave me alone."
