James was laying in his shared bed, Y/N next to him, headphones in and listening to any music they felt like. They weren't paying any attention to anything else, and James just watched them, lost. He was still learning about the weird device that Y/N held, but it lit up, and they showed James videos of what to wear to look like a true gentleman. He felt he didn't need the videos but was encapsulated by the details that the people spoke about, wanting to have the items immediately.

Everything about the bright thing made James more and more curious about what Y/N did on there. What did they talk about? What did they listen to? Did they write anything? Is it like a typewriter? The questions raced past James' thoughts as he just stared and stared at his smiling darling next to them. They were now staring James back, dead in his eyes. "Ah- hello my darling, I'm sorry, I must have gotten trapped in your radiance." He smiled, gently stroking Y/N's cheek.

Y/N just grinned and blushed wildly, taking their headphones off and then putting them on James. He was confused and held onto them. "Dear, what are you doing? What are these things?"

"Earphones. I've told you." They just sighed, scrambling to find something, but they hid their phone's screen away from James, so he could not see what they were doing. "I like the 1980s. You know that. Here's a song from that decade." The song started and James looked around, confused. He hadn't experienced headphones before, wireless or not.

But he sat and listened, staring at nothing. It was obvious he liked the song, off in his own world like Y/N was a second ago. Like the roles had been reversed, Y/N now staring at James, in love with this ghost. James was now the distracted one, listening to music that he had not thought of listening to even if he was dead or not. The song almost had him in a trance. Like in a cliche, he was thinking of Y/N, and the way sudden events made them fall in love with them, and them, the same. The man was truly head over heels as the song said, and he looked back to Y/N who had a smile on their face, seeing James react positively to the song they loved so much.

"You like?" They asked, taking the headphones off of James. James just stared at them until they had put their phone and headphones on the table next to the bed. "Darling?" Y/N cocked their head and looked confused until James grabbed them and pulled them on top of them, and started to kiss them, almost keeping the grip tight. Surprised, but happy, Y/N kissed James back, one hand gripping his shoulder, the other wrapping around the back of his head. At some point during the make-out, Y/N stopped questioning where the sudden need for attention came from.

But they pulled back eventually and caught their breath, keeping their hands gently placed on James' chest. "Explanation. Please?"

"I love you my sweet bird, Any song like that you show me, I just have to make sure you know you're mine." James grinned confidently. Y/N just giggled in their confusion.

"That wasn't even a sex song, just a general love song."

"I don't care."

Soon, James pulled them back, starting the make-out session again, using his hands to caress every piece of skin he could claim as his, leaving marks from the top of Y/N's neck to their chest.

"I love you James, I'm glad you liked the song."
