when chris walked into the gym hall for those stupid try outs that he and matt had to do, he would of never expected to see jude there. i mean cmon, it's such a coincidence that he decides to try out for the team when dejah decides to try out for cheerleading. but who cares, it's not like he was going to be any good as he had never done lacrosse in his life, this would be his first time. chris walked past the corner of the gym where the cheerleaders where doing their routines, when he smiles at dejah. she smiles back, and waves at matt who is following chris behind. they both make their way towards the long line of people, trying out for their lacrosse team. jude was leaning against the wall, chewing on gum, "no gum allowed for lacrosse, buddy." says chris, in a know it all voice.

jude squints his eyes slightly, hesitating before swallowing his gum. chris looks away, opening the back door to the outside field, "okay guys, we are going onto the field where me and the team captain chris, will show you what you guys need to know about lacrosse, and the basics of how you play." shouts matt, walking through it to guide the line to the field. chris waited until everyone was out before he shut the door behind them.

they all made it to the field where chris was handing out the gear that they all needed to wear. of course it was childish to give jude the dirty ones from lost and found, but it was too funny not to. matt was explaining the basic rules on how you play, shoot, pass and score while they all lined up. "okay, i'm going to stand in net, and you're all going to have a go at trying to score past me." shouts matt, gesturing for the first person in the line to come forward. they tried to score past matt, but they failed. and then the next one tried, and they failed too. and the next one, and the next one after them, until somebody finally scored past him. it was bryce fuller. "nice! first person to score past me." he says, shaking his hand.

chris pulls him to the side, "i just wanted to say that your goal was amazing. that will really set you up for a good chance at joining the tea-" explains chris, noticing jude scoring past matt too. "one second." he says, leaving bryce to walk towards matt. "bro? you really let him score past you?"

matt looked down ashamed, "i know, i'm sorry. i don't even know how? he's never played before has he?"

jude laughs in amusement and picks up a ball and tosses it in the air, catching it on its way down, "are you not going to pull me to one side and talk about how amazing my goal was? because it sure was." he laughs, making chris turn around.

chris watched as he tosses the ball up and down before walking towards him, "what's your past like with lacrosse? ever played for a different team?"

jude tilts his head, "nope never." he simply says before walking away. he turns around at matt and widens his eyes, sharing a look with matt.
