chapter 24

There was no getting out of this one. Jihyung was screwed. 

"I-I didn't mean that, sorry Cap- I just go-" Jihyung tried before Namjoon interrupted again. 

"He's tipsy Kook, don't worry." 

Jungkook remained silent, the confusion evident on his face. Nevertheless, he forgot about it when he felt a sudden surge of pain in his stomach. Looking down, he realized the wound he'd gotten earlier was bleeding out, his skin burning. 

"Ah-" Jungkook winced, "Fuck." This wound hurt more than normal. Jungkook had always had a high pain tolerance, but this wound, god, it hurt. 

"You good Cap?" Jihyung tried, watching Namjoon run through the doors to check on the time machine. 

"I'm fine." Jungkook managed to get out, his breathing ragged.

"No, that's too much blood, Cap, we gotta go the medical wing." Jihyung frowned, his forehead creasing in concern. 

"Min..." Jungkook said suddenly, and Jihyung spun to notice Jimin approaching from behind them. 

"They're all dead." Jimin said, "I-" Jimin paused when he noticed Jungkook's bleeding abdomen, a frown immediately engulfing his features. He rushed to Jungkook's side, "What happened?"

"I'm okay." Jungkook tried to smile at Jimin, who immediately saw through him.

"No you're not." Jimin said softly, holding up some of Jungkook's weight. "I'll take you to the medical wing, the bad guys are gone."

The rest of the frontline and Alpha officers were scattered across the banquet hall, breathing heavily and some injured. All of them were alive, though, and that was enough for Jungkook to relent to Jimin's request. 

"Yeah," Jungkook started feeling lightheaded. His eyes started fluttering shut, but the thought of what Jihyung had called him sprung into his mind once more. He always did see some similarity between Jih and himself, but then noticed something interesting. 

Jihyung's eyes. 

Jungkook switched his gaze to Jimin's anxious face, who was trying to keep him awake. Jimin and Jihyung- they had identical eyes. 

Something clicked in him, and Jungkook felt a pit in his stomach- before he blacked out completely.

"You what?!" Jina yelled, when she, Jihyung and Namjoon were alone, an hour later. 

Jihyung gulped nervously, hiding behind Namjoon like a little kid. 

"You called him Dad? Are you crazy?" Jina exclaimed, chasing after Jihyung, who was running around the lab to get away. 

"KIDS!" Namjoon screamed, "Calm down, please, god." The siblings paused, turning to look at him and he rolled his eyes. 

"Jinnie we have a bigger problem than that right now." Jihyung tried to explain, receiving a glare from Jina. 

"He's right, Jina." Namjoon said. "The bad guys, well they came for the time machine." Namjoon confessed, causing Jina's mouth to fall agape. "And they got to it, they broke part of it."

"What?" Jina said nervously, "You can fix it right?"

"Of course." Namjoon said, "But, it'll take two days." He added, "And, Kook knows about the time machine, it won't be long till he puts the pieces together about you two."

"Shit." Jihyung muttered. "I'm so sorry, it just slipped out."

"Wait." Jina said, "Dad blacked out afterwards, right?"
