Jimin and Jungkook entered the elevator together, Jimin considering going the opposite direction before realising they were sent to find the siblings. He sighed, avoiding eye contact by looking straight ahead of him, his hands clasped together in front of him. It pained Jungkook to see how uncomfortable Jimin looked, the latter biting his lip and scratching his arm awkwardly.
"Jim-" Jungkook said, helplessly. Jimin gave him a look.
"What?"
"Look, I'm sorr-" He started, before Jimin saw the elevator doors open and attempted to walk out quickly. Jungkook grabbed his arm and pulled him back inside, a crease appearing in his forehead.
"Hyung, listen, please." Jungkook said, watching the doors close. "I'm so sorry. I crossed a line yesterday, and it wasn't okay."
"You're right, it wasn't." Jimin said, wrestling his arm free. "Jungkook, I know you were going through a lot, with Lisa, and everything. If you want to fix your relationship- this isn't the way to do it."
"Yeah, yes, I know." Jungkook mumbled, "Just... well- we're still friends, right? I haven't ruined anything?"
Jimin paused for a second and Jungkook's throat went dry.
Jimin sighed, "Give me a bit, I'm sorry, I just dont want to be the reason your relationship is-"
"You're not, hyung, you're not even close. I mean- we've been friends for too long to allow some-"
This time, it was Jimin's turn to interrupt. "Kook." Jungkook stopped and stared into Jimin's eyes. The doors opened once more, and the siblings walked in, squabbling till they spotted their parents and their eyes widened.
"Shit, are we interrupting?" Jihyung frowned.
Jimin smiled. "Not at all, we were just coming to get you. You've been selected for the mission. Namjoon hyung needs to brief you upstairs." Jimin said, and Jungkook nodded awkwardly from behind.
"No way!" Jina laughed, throwing herself into Jimin's arms. "That's crazy, I can't believe it." Jimin couldn't help but chuckle, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Jungkook felt a small smile appear on his face at the sight, clapping Jihyung's hand with a laugh.
"Congrats." Jungkook beamed and added, "We'll come with you for the briefing."
They pressed the button for the top floor, and the four of them headed upstairs, entering Namjoon's office.
"My favourite siblings! How are you, good morning, all that good stuff." Namjoon cheered. "SO- you two have been selected for the mission- yay!"
The siblings grinned at Namjoon's excitement, Jina jumping at place with joy. Namjoon quickly described the mission, telling the siblings their schedule for the days prior to the mission and then finished with a smile. "You'll be great, dont worry."
"I sure hope so." Jihyung said, looking down at Jina and then back up at Namjoon.
"Of course. Now, Min and Kook- out you go, I gotta talk to these dudes."
"What's going on? I thought we made progress, this is plain weird." Jina rambled as soon as her parents left, eyes widening nervously. "I mean-"
Namjoon interrupted by raising his hands, "Hold you horses." His voice became quiet as his eyes darted at the door, checking for intruders. "Something has to have happened for them to act this way."
Jihyung scrunched his nose in confusion, "What do you mean? Like they fought?"
Namjoon sighed, "No. I mean something happened."
