What do you know about the book you are about to write?
Exercise: Write down everything you know about your story and why you're writing it. This could be via a brainstorming diagram, notes scribbled on a blank page, or as a list.
Some questions you might wish to consider, though remember not all will be relevant to the project you are about to embark upon:
> Is it for a competition or to be submitted to a particular venue?
> Is there a deadline?
> What genre or genres do you think it will fall into?
> Who are the main characters?
> What story are you trying to tell?
> Any thoughts on locations?
> How long does your manuscript need to be?
> Any thoughts on the plot? Subplots?
