Homebound. I was stuck inside on the day where I wanted to get away the most. After sharing our seemingly funny story, Katherine had Cole and I locked up at home today with the fear of us having pneumonia.

Anywhere we'd go, she'd follow with a blanket, ensuring that we were always wrapped up warm. It was nice that she cared so much but now I was also wrapped up with thanksgiving day.

Jackie tried to negotiate the deal and drag me out with her to help with the food drive again today- especially seeing as I missed it yesterday. I still hadn't got round to giving her all the details of the day before...

Every time I tried to, she'd lecture me on how Cole was irresponsible and selfish for dragging me away. Therefore, I thought she'd judge if I shared my true feelings, shared all the fun I had.

I was helping Danny and George in the kitchen and Katherine began complaining about their childish behaviour, "This isn't a competition, you know?" They were creating their meal choices. "Sure it is." Cole bumbled in, joining the hustle and bustle.

Danny began to laugh, "Right, says the guy who contributes a carton of vanilla ice cream every year." George joined in, "Ice..." he put his hands on mine and Cole's shoulders mockingly. "No ice cream for you this year," Katherine smiled, "It's too Cold."

Alex began to pour himself a coffee and revealed that him and Nathan were going to the Summerhills. I was unsure who or where that was but Nathan looked happy.

A disheartened look formed on Katherine's face, "Don't be gone too long... This is one of the only days of the year we get to spend together." Coincidentally, Jackie came down the stairs and tried to sneak out without us seeing her. "Are you going to?" Katherine questioned. Jackie frowned in confusion, "Where?" She asked.

Alex then answered my silent queries and Jackie's question, "Skylar's dad is doing a talk on the real history of thanksgiving."

Jackie turned him down and revealed that she was off with Erin again doing food deliveries for the meals that never got picked up. Katherine raised her eyebrows, "Well I'm gonna need you all home by 2:00."

I looked at Jackie pleadingly but she avoided my gaze, "I'm not sure how long deliveries will take, so don't wait for me as I'll just grab leftovers when I'm home." She swung her bag over her shoulder and left through the front door.

The day went slowly but all changed when someone arrived at the door. "Uncle Richard!" I jumped into his arms, enveloping myself in his embrace. "It's so good to see you!" I eventually pulled myself away from his familiar comfort.

He examined me probably to see if I'd changed, "What happened to your arm?" He pointed at the temporarily stitched cut. I went to file out some excuse when Katherine came out, "Wow, Richard you're early!" She expressed in shock.

It was quite a hassle trying to reconnect with my uncle. Benny and Parker were in annoying, yet excitable, moods. Lee was full of rage after his dad didn't answer the organised thanksgiving call.

Uncle Richard felt more stern to when I last remembered seeing him. He even felt the need to bring up when Jackie and I got drunk and skipped school. "That was all my fault Richard, you know me..." I stepped in, not allowing Katherine and George to take the blame for our irresponsible actions.

"You guys got drunk!" Parker exclaimed in shock. George swiftly took control, "Um, everybody under the age of 35 let's get out the kitchen." And just like that we were swept away.

Katherine made me convincingly call Jackie to come back for dinner. I couldn't help but ruin the surprise that Uncle Richard was here and she came over right away.
