I left the barn swiftly, ensuring that I didn't wake Cole.

The sun was rising and as I entered the house, there was no sound of movement. It was the perfect time to go for a run and attempt to clear my uncontrollable thoughts.

I looped through the fields, soaking up the warming sun. Once I returned, a few more faces had surfaced from their rooms.

Chaos in the kitchen had began with kids running everywhere and food scattered across the table. Everyone was excited to watch Alex in the final and for the concert.

After being rushed by Jackie, I quickly got myself ready for the day and was out the door with everyone else.

Cole and Alex had left slightly earlier to prepare Murphy ready to ride.

I spent the morning with Jackie, Grace and Kylie. We went on every ride possible and spent all our money trying different foods.

As it got nearer and nearer to Alex's race, I ventured off to find Cole to see how he was doing.

"Hey." I said gently as I approached Cole from behind. He was stood by the fence anticipating Alex's race.

"Hey." He smiled as he saw it was me.

"When's Alex's race?" I asked. He twiddled his fingers with nerves, "Very soon..."

"Thank you for last night Cole." I said out of the blue, "It meant a lot having you open up."

His eyes scanned my face with a sense of uncertainty, he then wrapped me tightly into his arms. "Are we good now?" He asked as he pulled away to examine my face.

"Forever." I stated, never wanting to ever ruin this feeling of comfort again.

Our attention on each other quickly descended as Alex was called onto the track. He confidently trotted along on top of the large horse, Murphy.

Cole pulled an arm round me, stroking me with his fingertips nervously. We both watched through the fence as Alex charged the course with ease.

Suddenly, Cole's grip loosened as Alex's rein came loose. Murphy began to buck wildly and everything descended into chaos. "Shit." Cole mumbled beneath his breath.

"Oh no what a disaster!" The commentator bellowed, "It looks like a broken rein."

Cole's eyes turned cold as he watched in fear. "Such a promising start earlier in the competition for this newcomer, but that's gonna be disappointing for Alex Walter."

Alex jumped off the horse in confusion. His face displayed a sense of anger as he searched the crowd with his eyes.

"I'm gonna go check on him-" Cole began, his eyes not leaving Alex.

"Do you want me to come?" I asked but he quickly shook his head, "I've got to do this." He said with a face of determination.

I didn't see Cole for the rest of the day.

I tried calling him numerous times but he just didn't answer, same goes for Jackie. I knew they must be together because they were the only 2 missing. I called the house a couple of times too but there was no sign of them.

Alex and I stood hopelessly at the entrance of the concert, waiting for the two.

"Me and Cole made up." Alex squeaked through the awkward tension.

"I'm pleased for you two." I nodded with a smile. There was another long silence between us.

"Do you think Jackie and Cole are together right now?" Alex voice quivered. As I went to reply, his phone rang from inside his pocket. He held up a finger to say 'excuse me.'

After what felt like forever, Alex ended the call and informed me that it was Will to say that Cole and Jackie were in the middle of no where due to Cole's truck breaking down.

There was a part of me that was relieved to know that they weren't dead. However, there was another part that wondered what could've happened between them in this long space of time.

Alex and I were hurriedly scooped up by Will to save the two. We both sat in the back of Wills car with very little to say.

We neared towards the pair who were sprawled out on top of the truck in the middle of a road. As the bright lights of the car beamed on top of them, they hurriedly drew apart and dismantled the truck.

"Jackie!" Alex called as he ran into her arms. I slowly meandered towards Cole and he smiled at me with lost eyes, "Everything okay?" I asked and he quickly nodded.

"Hey Jackie!" Will grinned, "How do you feel about adding wedding planner to your resume?" He asked.

We all looked around at each other wide eyed. "It's happening!" He answered our shocked glares.

Cole immediately drew him into a hug and I couldn't contain my happiness for him, "Will!! Congratulations."

"Oh wow, finally!" Alex ran up to him with joy. "I love weddings!" He grinned, pulling away from there hug.
