Da-rae’s POV

"I THOUGHT I FUCKING KILLED YOU!" Da-rae shouted, her heart pounding.

Gwi-nam smirked. "Oh? Did you forget? I’m God now."*

"No… you’re just a Hambie."*

"A what?" Gwi-nam raised an eyebrow.

"None of your damn business."*

"DA-RAE!! MOVE!!" Cheong-san yelled, but before Da-rae could react, Gwi-nam lunged at him, trying to gouge out his eye. Da-rae swung without thinking, her punch landing squarely on Gwi-nam’s face, forcing him to release Cheong-san.

"You little bitch! Come here!" Gwi-nam snarled, making a move to bite her.

Nam-ra shoved him hard, sending him flying down the stairs. "Why won’t you just fucking die!?!" she shouted.

"It’s unlocked!" On-jo’s voice rang out from the rooftop door.

"LET’S GO!" Da-rae sprinted toward the exit, everyone rushing after her.

"HEY! OVER HERE!!" she screamed, waving her arms frantically, but the choppers had already disappeared into the night.

Silence.

"Great! SOOOOOOO GREAT!! SUPER DUPER HAPPY!!" Da-rae kicked a piece of wood across the roof in frustration.

Then— BANG! BANG! BANG!

Everyone froze.

"Is that… Gwi-nam?" Da-rae hesitated, staring at the rooftop door. "I thought Nam-ra pushed him down the stairs!?"

"Be careful, Rae!" Wu-jin warned.

Then—silence.

"What the actual fuck…" Da-rae muttered.

Nam-ra’s face darkened. "He’s gone…"

"Who's gone?" Su-hyeok asked.

"Gwi-nam. I can smell it," Nam-ra said grimly.

Everyone exchanged uneasy glances.

Trying to shake the tension, Da-rae spoke up. "Okay… I know the choppers left, but if they come back, we should build an S.O.S sign."*

"Yeah, that’s a good idea," On-jo agreed.

"Great thinking, Rae!" Wu-jin grinned.

"Thanks, Jin."*

They got to work, gathering materials from around the rooftop. After what felt like forever, they stood back to admire their handiwork.

"Well… at least there’s no way anyone can miss that, right?" Da-rae dusted off her hands.

"Yeah, it looks solid!"*

"Wait… what does S.O.S even stand for?" Dae-su asked.

"It doesn’t stand for anything. It’s just S.O.S," On-jo explained.

"That makes no sense."*

"That’s just how it is!"*

"Then why not ‘Save Our Souls?’"

"That’s a myth."*

"Nah, I’m pretty sure it means ‘Save Our Souls,’" Da-rae chimed in. "My mom’s a nurse, and my dad’s a cop. Trust me."*

"Ohh, that actually makes sense. Thanks, Rae."*

"See? Told you," Da-rae smirked at On-jo.

"Whatever. The sun’s setting. Let’s start a fire," Su-hyeok suggested.
