Following on from The Authority of jesus Christ and jesus Heals A Paralysed man - this is another example of Jesus's authority and power that led to the world realising he is The Son of God. It was not only the wind and the waves, but the sun and the rain, hailstormy, hurricains, torandos, tsunamis and erruptions Jesus was commanding to be calmed and stop all over the world, and the people on earth heard him telling them all just so, which means that Jesus also had command over the atmosphere and the sun and the moon, the stars and the universe, and how could this be? It was also symbolism as well as this fact that Jesus had power and authority and command and control over emotions, thoughts and feelings and could heal and change a person pysically, mentally and emotionally, psychologically! There was even something about jesus that put Faith into people at the sight of Him who had never seen or known God before, and this was an ultimate miracle. The troubles and stresses would obey him, and all of these factors would just... go away... and no human being could do something like this unless he was OF/IS/LIKE/Belonging To/The Son Of GOD Himself. To us... it was Impossible!
Jesus asked, "why are you so frightened?" telling them to be fearless in the presence of God and never be afraid when God is with you and on your side. He explained that being frightened meant that you were lacking in faith and Trust in God, and one must not be scared of anything (but as Jesus taught, as previously mentioned, but even trust God with this!!!) not even murderers can scare one, death cannot scare one, let alone the weather! As long as one had genug Trust and Faith in God, one never had any need to be afraid, because this too would pass, and this would be "Alright, its alright, its alright, its alright." - Jesus Christ.
To have no fear one must realise that GOD IS PURE LOVE. God and jesus together calmed the storm and jesus was saving lives - as well as Faith, Trust and Love and fearless before God, stopped the storm as Jesus was in prayer, as jesus spoke in love when he did so, and God and jesus work wonders when working for LOVE. Forgiveness is also a very powerful thing and when one forgives with pure love in thier heart, one can cause and bless miraculous wonders in the world. This is what jesus is trying to tell them. When one acts and speaks and is in love, God will work in love in thier lives and they will witness the Grace of God which is the end of suffering and salvation - what is when the storm is calmed.
God is good, God is perfect and God is Holy.
