The teens walked behind behind Percy, Asteria moved next to him "Asteria, please get behind me" He looked at her focusing his attention on her, and only her. Asteria didn't budge but her gaze softened and moved slightly back
Grover pulled Asteria near him as Annabeth stood next to them with her arms crossed. Percy moved his sword to face Ares, a move she found way to similar.
"Single combat!" Percy shouted, Ares scoffed "What?" He questioned as the teens repeated the same in union. They all looked at eachother with the same reaction "One-on-one, but i set the terms." Percy cleared up
"If i draw first blood, i keep the bolt and you surrender the helm." Ares laughed - he was mocking Percy "Do you accept?" Percy challenged "I mean it's your funeral kid. Although just to be clear, no funeral. Any trace of you leaves a trace of my plan and we can't have that."
"It wasn't your plan, though, was it? It was Kronos" Percy revealed, Asteria shook her head wanting to get out of there, for all of them to get out of there. Percy started exposing more information
"She dosent know" Asteria whispered towards Grover "What?" Annabeth questioned them as all the news was new to her "After you die say hi to your mommy to me" Ares shouted clearly fed up
"Holy shit" Asteria gasped as Ares made his way towards Percy. Percy tucked under his attempt and shot back up as their swords clanked against eachother. In a instant Percy fell backwards, he used the sword as protection against Ares
Ares lifted Percy up, as Percy rolled on the floor getting back up to fight. Ares quickly unarmed Percy, his sword flew towards the floor. Ares grabbed the blonde boy by the shirt before throwing him to the floor
"Percy!" She yelled, she was in shock this was all happening in front of her. Even though Asteria grew up experiencing things like these she never got used to it. She never got used to seeing someone she loved get hurt.
Grover tried to walk forward as both girls held his arm back, it was too soon for them to interfere "Wait." Annabeth warned. Percy attempted to get up but Ares kicked him towards a puddle of water. Asteria flinched hearing thunder rumbling as the tide got stronger.
"If he-?" Grover just nodded almost as if he knew what she was gonna ask. It was clear on what Percy was doing. "I warned you, if you're not careful." Percy got up as the wave grew taller
"You'll find out who i am." The water rumbled shaking the ground slightly. The wave went over Percy and crashed into Ares. The teens had gotten wet from the impact. "Dont move." Percy warned them as he got his sword back. Ares quickly got up continuing the fight. Percy cut Ares leg as he groaned with pain.
Grover looked at the girls in disbelief as smile tugging at their lips. The quickly approached Percy "You okay?" Grover asked immediately, Percy just nodded at the questions getting asked "And you always underestimated yourself" Asteria mentioned as he smiled looking at her
Ares got their attention by clapping "Yay! That was so cool" Sarcasm lacked in his tone as he got up, completely unbothered. "Wanna know what you really won today?" He gritted his teeth
"An enemy for life" Asteria scoffed as Ares looked at her. "Congrats" Ares started to show his true form "Look away!" Asteria shouted "Dont look at his true form" The teens all turned away shielding their faces
"Is he gone?" Asteria whispered hearing a loud thud behind them, they all turned around slowly still being cautious. "It's hades helm" They realized "I didn't expect for it to look like that" Asteria was almost shocked
Annabeth walked towards the helm before picking it up. Percy had moved to stand next to Asteria. He was looking down at her "What?" She mumbled as he smiled hugging her. He let go, her shaky hand cupping his face. Her finger wrapped around on of his curls. His hand gently caressed her face. She smiled softly, her cheeks and obvious tint of pink. He returned the smile something he did often. Asteria felt lost not knowing what to do, maybe it was too soon?
"Percy?" She questioned, as he looked towards the house in the distance. He snapped out of his thoughts looking back at her. "Im sorry, i just- just follow me" He stumbled over his words as if he was in disbelief. He held her hand reassuring her she did nothing wrong.
Grover walked next to Asteria, nudging her shoulder - he was making fun of her. "Oh shut up!" She laughed as they followed Percy "Whatever" Grover playfully rolled his eyes at the girl "But better luck next time" He mocked
