"Thank you for not dying on me," Rafe sighed and Lindey turned her head to look at him.

"Well I did, but I pulled a Jesus," She smirked and he rolled his eyes.

"You scared the shit out of me," He sighed, moving the chair right next to her bedside.

"I scared the shit out of myself," She sighed as he took her hand.

"Don't ever do that again," He kissed her hand repeatedly.

"I'm sorry," She sighed, a tear running down her face.

"Don't apologize," He moved her hair out of her face and rubbed her cheek lightly with his thumb.

"Gonna leave a cool ass scar though," She stifled a laugh and he smirked.

"Yeah," He smirked and kissed her forehead.

"Would you like to try to walk around a bit or do you still want to wait, you can do whatever you please," A nurse popped her head in, gave a smile, then moved to the next room.

"Help me up," She slowly sat up more and swung her legs over the side of the bed, wincing in pain.

Rafe helped her stand and she held onto the bed, moving slowly. Rafe held onto her hand and she turned slowly to face him.

"Thank you for staying," She smiled at him and he nodded.

"No way in hell I was going to leave you alone," He gave her a smile and connected their lips.

"So why'd you tell them you're my boyfriend," She smirked and his face turned red.

"Because if I said I was your brother and I did this," He planted a quick kiss on her lips, "They'd probably lock me up for incest."

"Yeah?" She smirked.

"Yup, that's the only reason," He nodded and she nodded.

"Alright," She laughed and got back in bed, moving to the far side, "Lay with me please."

He nodded and got in the hospital bed with her, wrapped his arms around her. She laid her head against his chest, slowly falling asleep. She was exhausted, who knew dying took so much out of you. He laid there holding her, watching her breathe to make sure she still was in fact breathing, planting kisses on the top of her head as she  slept.

"You scared the hell out of me Lindey," He whispered, not wanting to wake her, "The minute JJ said there was something wrong, I thought you died, I thought you were gone for good and I don't think I'd be able to handle that. I need you, you're like my own personal drug that I need to take every day to live, you keep me grounded," He smoothed her hair.

He looked down at her extremely bandaged up thigh and pursed his lips, then looked up at the ceiling. He continued to hold the girl coose to him, letting his thoughts take over. This was the only girl that he had ever let in, the only girl he truly gave a shit about, and he almost lost her. She turned slightly, then snuggled closer to him, letting out a small sigh as he rubbed her back.

"Rafe," She mumbled.

"What's up, baby?" He whispered and she smiled against him.

"Thank you," She whispered, and drifted back off to sleep.

Lynn and JJ laid in her bed together, both silent but both alert enough. Rafe had been giving them hourly updates about Lindey and how she was doing, which Lynn really appreciated.

"You need to get some sleep," JJ sighed, kissing the girl on her forehead.

"What if something happens though?" She asked and he reasured her everything was fine.
