Anastasia's POV
I was sitting in my social studies class watching the substitute try and teach us the new lesson my teacher had a family emergency to take care of so we got stuck with this loser. I mean seriously, he's a joke. He has absolutely no idea what he's teaching us. Most of the girls were giggling and the guys weren't wven paying attention. I rolled my eyes, the least they could do was give us a sub that knew what thy were talking about. My thoughts were interrupted when a ball of paper hit me in the back of the head. I turned around to see Scarlet Reynolds, the schools heart breaker. She winked at me and gave me an air kiss. I smiled and turned back around.
Scarlet is amazing. She has dark brown hair with light blue highlights, and blood red eyes. Okay, her eyes are really a light blue but she covers them with contacts. Scarlet's amazing. She really is. I met her two years ago when I was ridding my horse, Starlight. She's brown with a white star shaped mark on her forehead. Scarlett's horse is black, her name's Lighting. She's really fast, I think that's why Scarlet named her Lighting. The bell rang signaling the end of the class and I couldn't get out of there fast enough.
"Hey beautiful. Wait up!" Scarlet said, catching up to me and throwing her arm around my shoulders.
"Hey there heart-breaker." I smiled.
"Awe, Ana, you know I don't like you calling me that." She said.
"Yeah but it's true." I smiled.
She walked me to my locker where Stephanie was waiting for me. She seen Steph and rolled her eyes, they didn't really get along all that well. Put it this way, Steph was a pretty princess and Scarlet was well, an ogre. But a very very very very beautiful ogre. I smiled at Steph but she had her eyes on Scarlet's arm.
"Hey Steph, what's up?" I asked.
Steph was pretty too. She dyed her hair light brown over the summer, saying she wanted a new look for middle school. She has chocolate brown eyes that I absolutely love. They're my second favorite eye color next to my ogre's. We have been best friends since we were 2. She lives with her mom because her dad and mom got a divorce. Her dad, Richard, is a homophobic prick. Her mom, Naomi, isn't much better. She has this huge crush on my mommy and practically stalks her but that's another story for another time.
"Hey Ana! We still on for our sleep over tonight? We can build a fort in my living room!" She said.
I froze.
"A fort? Really? What are you, 5?" Scarlet laughed. The bell rang and she smiled, "I'll see you later beautiful. Have fun building forts with the little princess."
I watched Scarlet walk away and Steph and I walked to our next class. Which was English. I walked to class with Stephanie talking about how we can build forts in her living room. I mean, really? I was popular. I don't want people thinking of me as a little kid still.
"Look, Steph, we're in middle school now. You can't run around saying that you're gonna build a fort in your living room." I said.
"Why not?" She asked, holding the door open for me.
"Because its not cool anymore." I said, sitting down in my seat.
"Alright. I won't talk about it in school... But we still are going to right?" She asked.
"Of course! Its tradition!" I smiled.
At lunch time I walked to the to the high school. Our high school and middle schools were on the same property so I go over there during lunch most of the time. I walked into my mom's classroom and looked around. She was towards the back talking to a student. The student looked at her and seemed to be crying.
