Katie's POV
Oh hell no! Not again!
I ran out of the house with Veronica. Ana and Bethany were on the porch, struggling with a knife.
"You need to die Ana. You weren't supposed to wake up. It's your time." Bethany said.
And of course... Ana froze. That's what she said the angel in her dreams has been saying to her.
My entire world froze as I seen Bethany thrust the knife towards Ana's chest. No...
The next thing I knew, Bethany was on the ground holding her face. Ana had decked her. Hard.
"I'm not letting you hurt me. Not again." Ana said.
"You know you need to let go. Just let me do it." Bethany said.
I saw Veronica sneaking up behind her to grab the knife as she sat up.
"No. I refuse to believe that anymore. It's not my time. I have so much to live for. So fuck you for making me think I'm weak." Ana said with a kick to her stomach that sent her flying backwards.
She dropped the knife and Veronica grabbed it. I relaxed and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. My baby's okay.
"Who the hell called the cops?" Mariah yelled.
"I did." Justine said.
"Why?" Justin asked her, "You're supposed to back us up! You're my sister!"
"And I'm Ana's aunt. I need to be there for her when she needs me. Justin, you betrayed me when you got with Mariah. I don't care what happens to you anymore. I tried. But you just hurt someone I love. And I can't let you do that ever again." Justine said.
As the cops were putting Justin in the car Ana walked up to him. I was about to call for her to get away from him when my daughter opened her mouth.
"A word of advice. Don't drop the soap buddy." Ana smiled and walked over to Scarlet.
My jaw dropped. Where the hell did that come from?
Veronica and Sammie literally fell down laughing, which made all of the kids laugh at them, which resulted in them falling on the ground. I looked over at Justine who just shrugged at me. The cops came over and asked Justine what they should do with Mariah and Justin's kids. She told them to get Bethany help and give Serentiy and David to her mom and dad.
Soon, it was just me, my wife and kids at home. Well, Scar was there but I consider her my kid. Her mom hasn't been there for her since her mama left them, so she's been here with us as much as possible.
We sat down to watch a movie and I looked at my family. Why do we have to keep going through all of this crap? What did we ever do to deserve this? Especially Ana. What has that little angel ever done wrong? She doesn't deserve this.
"Hey Mommy?" Ana called.
"What Rocket?" I asked.
"When do I go back to school?" She asked.
"When you feel like you can make it." I said.
She didn't say anything back so I looked over at her. She was looking at the ground.
"Ana?" I asked.
"Will I ever be ready to go back?" She asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Loud noises scare me. I think it's a gun and I freak out. I can't handle people jumping at me. And I freak out when people scream." She said, "I'll never be ready to go back."
