Ana's POV
"My lovers got humor, she's the giggle at a funeral. Knows everybody's disapproval, should've worshiped her sooner."
"I didn't know you could sing." Scar said, walking into my room.
"No?" I asked, looking up from my journal.
"Nope. I mean, I know we're in chorus together but that just means you like to sing." She said.
"I guess I'm okay." I said.
"You have an amazing voice Ana." She said.
"I guess I take after my momma then." I said.
"Isn't Veronica a songwriter too?" She asked.
"Yep." I smiled.
"Hmm." She hummed, "sing another verse."
I smiled at her and went back to my drawing, "My church offers no absolution. She tells me worship in the bedroom. The only heaven I'll be sent to, is when I'm alone with you."
"What's your favorite song?" Scar asked.
"Fight song or Fire meet gasoline." I replied, shading in the shadow of the girl in my drawing.
"What are you drawing?" She asked, coming up behind me.
"I don't know." I said.
I paused to look at what I was drawing. See that's the thing with me and my drawings. When I sit down to draw, I rarely ever know what I want to draw. I just go with the flow and don't really know what it's going to be until I finish it.
So far, there was a girl who was crying. She had on a backpack and was walking away from something. I don't know what it was yet, because I hadn't finished the girl. The girl was also bruised. And she seemed to be walking towards something because she arms were stretched out in front of her. I couldn't stop now, or it would never be finished. I had a lot of drawing that I never finished because I got distracted.
Scarlet backed away and I could tell she was smiling, "Okay. Finish your drawing. Take as long as you need. I'll be here when you finish."
"Thank you." I mumbled, letting the pencil take me away again.
About an hour later I finished the drawing. It was actually pretty interesting. The girl that was crying was walking away from a town that was on fire. There were people watching her go but they all looked angry, and some had guns and torches. She was walking towards another girl who had her arms out ready to comfort her. Behind that girl stood a dragon, ready to fly away at its owners command. It was definitely one of my favorites. By far.
I looked over to Scarlet who was texting someone, "Hey babe. I'm done. Who you talking too?"
"Rowen." She said.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Nothing." She said, putting her phone down, "She just randomly texted me."
She got up and walked over to me, "That's amazing."
I looked from her to my drawing and smiled, "Thank you."
"You're a girl of many talents, Sapphire." She said.
"You haven't seen all of my talents yet." I wiggled my eyebrows.
"And she won't be seeing those talents for a while young lady." Momma said.
"Momma." I greeted.
"Don't you momma me young lady." She said, coming over to give me a hug.
I hugged her and she walked out.
