What was supposed to be three weeks, turned into three months.
Hyunjin's wounds healed completely around two months ago, but neither the girl nor the boy himself ever talked about his departure. It was almost as if they were afraid of talking about it, they avoided the topic.
Chaemin felt like her nerves were at the verge of exploding. She often found herself lost on thought, imagining her life omce she's all alone again.
Hyunjin on one hand seemed comfortable, his legs sprawled across the blanket they'd set up outside, eyes closed as he basked in the sun.
His back had been turned towards her due to one particular reason.
Chaemin was busy braiding his hair - something he'd learned to enjoy the past few weeks.
She had stopped in the middle of it, making him turn to face her in curiosity when she wouldn't continue."Chaemin?"
The girl snapped out of her daze, meeting Hyunjin's eyes which were both sharp and yet obviously softened as he gazed at her.
"I-", she gulped.
Get it together, girl.
Clenching her fists, she nodded to herself, making the male even more curious.
"I don't want you to leave."
Hyunjin's mouth parted in shock, not expecting her outburst.
The longer it took for him to reply, the more Chaemin felt the embarrassment seeping in.Shyly, she looked at her lap, where her hands were fiddeling and her ears turned red and hot.
"I'm sorry, just forget I said-"A deep chuckle from the front caused her to freeze up.
Hyunjin's hand entered her line of vision before he cupped her jaw, tilting her face up so that she had no other choice than to look him into the eyes again. This time it was her turn as her mouth fell open in shock, blush spreading to her cheeks when Hyunjin also grabbed her waist and pushed her to be even closer.
"Why are you so worried?", the mischievous glint in his eyes made her heart pound into every direction possible.
Hyunjin carefully brushed a loose strand of hair out of her face, leaning in to whisper against her ear.
"I never planned to leave you alone, my love."Right then and there, Chaemin swore she physically melted into a puddle as her hands trembled from the close proximity when he backed away just enough to hold that intense eye contact again.
"You were- are my saviour. Let me return the favour."
He smiled and Chaemin was sure there was a slight mock in his eyes when he placed his hand on her thigh to stop her shaking. Hyunjin was probably 100% aware of what he was doing.
"Even if it means I'll have to spend the rest of my life with you."
He finally leaned away, allowing the poor girl to breathe as she cupped her hand to her chest, face blazing and butterflies making her stomach ache in the best way possible.
Chaemin rapsed her throat, fanning her cheeks before she looked at Hyunjin again.
The male was still staring at her, looking at her like a predator prying on it's prey. A lazy smirk streched on his lips before he turned around again, grabbing her hands to raise them to his hair. The female got the message as she finally continued braiding his hair.
She finally digested everything that had happened. Chaemin had to bite her lip, trying to surpress her grin as her hands still trembled, for a very good reason.
A small breeze filled with the scent of wild flowers ruffled through their clothes, the birds chirped in the background and Chaemin couldn't help but think that she wouldn't have wanted for the situation to be any other way.
