He could only stare at them, shoulders heavy and heart slowing down. It felt like time had stopped as she hugged him. The other male, I mean.

Kim Seungmin could only stare at the love of his life as she laughed to her full heart's content, getting spinned in the air. The tired eye bags under his eyes and his downturned lips went completely unnoticed by everyone in the room.

Of course.

His throat turned heavy as he looked at the floor where his feet trembled.

Of course she would choose the other over him.

She would choose him in every other life, even when it was Seungmin's shoulder that she cried on when the other was harsh on her.

She would choose him in every other life, even when it was Seungmin who dropped everything and rushed to her when she called.

She would choose him in every other life, even when it was Seungmin who took a brutal beating in order to help her when she was being harassed on the streets at night.

She would choose him in every others life, even when it was Seungmin who made her laugh and smile and giggle and happy and confident when everyone else, including him, picked on her.

Honestly, probably anyone would chose someone else over him.

Kim Seungmin; the one who wasn't the main protagonist, the second male lead, the one who was Nobody's Choice.

This...this isn't fair.

He slowly packed his belongings, pushing his glasses up before he left the room, slipping out of the room like an invisible ghost. Nobody glanced his way, nobody even bothered to ask why he was crying.

Pathetic.

The back of his hand flew to his face as he wiped away the tears, feeling his heart break and shatter into a million pieces.

He always felt so complete when he was with her, so content.
He always felt like he was seen.
He felt like he was full of love.
But now he has no one to give it to.

Now, his days will go back to their routine before he met her, before they became friends.

He will wake up every day, go to school all alone, survive lectures with no seat mate, eat lunch in soltitude and go back home without anyone to talk to. He will pass through the shadows like a spec of dust and go unseen by everyone.

Seungmin's feet led him to the rooftop, where he pushed the door open with little struggle before he sat down on his little spot. Now that he was finally alone, he allowed himself to break down.

Salty and hot tears streamed down endlessly and he kept trying to wipe them away, but to no avail. His whole body shook and his mouth opened in sobs. He buried his face into his hands, wailing helplessly.

The sun was shining brightly, it was summer after all, but its light didn't seem to reach Seungmin that day.
It was a beautiful day and the birds were chirping, the beauty didn't seem like it wanted him to be part of it all though.
People were touring on their bikes, going out and meeting up, but their happiness didn't seem to infect him.

Would anyone even notice of he decided to jump off the rooftop?
Would anyone hear his screams or take care of his corpse as it bleeds out, forming a puddle around him with his bones broken and limbs twisting into unnatural directions. His life would escape the capsule of his body with his last breath as he closed his eyes and it would be a regular Tuesday morning for everyone else.

His breaths had completely calmed down and he was silent again as he stared at the edge of the rooftop, something dangerous twinkling in his eyes. Seungmin's limbs ached and hurt as he pushed himself off the ground, his steps swaying as he approached the fence.

Hands clammy and shaky, he wrapped them around the cold metal, shivering as he pressed himself forward, leaning over and feeling the gravitation pull him down, falling.

He screamed, because the fall was fast, but also because it went into the wrong direction and was weirdly short.

"Are you out of your fucking mind?!"

He rasped out a cough, sitting up and twisting his head to look at the origin of the voice.

Infront of him stood a girl, messy black hair, eyes wide with horror and cigarette in her left hand. She was absolutely stunning.

Seungmin could only gape when she grabbed both of his cheeks, pushing her face right infront of his.

"Suicide is not a solution!"

She smelled like a mixture of smoke and perfume, the elegant and strong type.

"Are you even listening to me?!"
She screamed out frustratedly, noticing his abscent stare as she raked her hand through her hair.

"Stupid!"
She sneered, giving him a side eye.

Finally, he snapped out of it and he felt the embarrassment seep in. He lowered his gaze to look at the floor.
"I'm sorry."

The girl, for a second, froze at the utter vulnerability and hurt in his voice and she finally looked at him again, noticing his gaze as he looked at the floor like the seven hells of shame had consumed him.

She sighed, sitting down infront of him and putting her hand on his shoulder so that he would look at her again.

"What is your name?"

Her voice had switched from her loud and outrageous manner to a softer and calmer one as she smiled at him.

"Kim Seungmin."
He accepted her hand that was outstretched for a shake.
He wouldn't admit it at the time, but he enjoyed the way she said his name, maybe a little bit too much.

"Well, Seungmin, my name's Nara."

Weaky, he mirrored her smile, standing up with her.

"Let's go downstairs."
Nara urged him to follow, which he silently did.

He followed her, unaware of the friendship that would blossom between them in the time that has to come.
