Andria's P.O.V:
I groaned as my phone rang, and stopped stirring the pancake batter. I looked down at my iPhone 5s, and saw a number I didn't recognize. I shrugged and answered it, putting the phone against my ear.
"Is this Alexandria Ryans?" A man's voice boomed through the speaker.
I winced. "Yes, that's me."
"Alexandria, My name is Doctor Thyme. Your mother and her boyfriend were in a car crash this morning on the I-10, coming back from Malibu I believe. They are currently here in Los Angeles Community Hospital. We were unable to contact your sister, Cassandra."
I swallowed unable to speak.
"How are they?"
Doctor Thyme cleared his throat. "Well,"
That 'Well,' was all I needed. I dropped my phone and collapsed onto the cold tile floor.
"Andria? Andria what's wrong?" Jack exclaimed, running over and helping me up. Emily furrowed her eyebrows and shut the refrigerator door.
"Dri? you okay?" She asked.
I shook my head still unable to speak. "Hospital," I croaked.
"What!? Are you okay?" Jack grabbed my shoulders.
"My mom," I whispered.
Emily's P.O.V:
I've only seen Andria like this once in my entire life...When her dad died. She had shut the world out, and when she did speak, she screamed.
"Andria, We need to get in the car. We need to go to the hospital," Jack sad softly, grabbing Andria's hand.
Andria pulled away and shook her head violently. "No. NO! I am not getting in a car. Cars are dangerous and only cause death. No! I am not getting in a car. Ever."
"Andria, we need to go to the hospital. We need to see if everything is okay with your mom and Tom, Okay? You need to trust me," Jack reasoned. Andria let out a shaky breath and nodded.
"Okay."
I led the way outside to my rental car and hopped into the driver's seat. Jack and Andria climbed into the back. He held her in his arms as she cried loudly, and I felt my heart twist. Why? Why does everything bad happen to Andria and her family. First, her dad. Now, her mom too? What kind of sick, twisted future did God have planned out for her? I knew there was still hope. I knew that Andria's mom could be perfectly fine. But, at the same time, Melissa could be in a fatal position.
"Jack, call Cassandra," I said softly, glancing at him in the rearview mirror He nodded and pulled out his phone.
I chewed on my lip and took the exit to the hospital.
"Go ahead," I said to Jack. "I'll find a parking spot."

Alexandria's P.O.V:
"He's okay?" I asked hopefully, a smile tugging at my lips.
"Yes, Besides a few stitches on the right side of his face, and his right arm," Dr. Thyme said.
Thank God. Tom is okay.
"And my mom?" I asked. Surely she was fine too. I mean for God's sakes, Tom was driving the car and he was basically unscathed.
"Well, Alexandria, The truck crashed into the passenger side of the car. Therefore, your mother was not...completely unharmed," The doctor said. Jack grabbed my hand.
"Alright, but she's okay, right?" Jack asked.
"Unfortunately, sir, the impact of the truck hit her severely. After multiple tests, we had no choice but to pronounce her brain dead. "
I felt every part of me go cold at once. She's dead?
My mom is dead. the woman who has been there for me for every moment of every day is dead? No, that's not possible.
No.
No.
No.
I suddenly became extremely dizzy, and I couldn't help but think one thing...
I never said Goodbye.
Then, blackness.
