Brynnley:
Four years later...
It has been four years since we graduated from college, and a lot has changed.
Carter got drafted by the New York Rangers, and we were so excited for him. Especially since we didn't have to leave New York; we had just moved to the city.
We found this beautiful apartment next to Madison Square Garden. It was definitely a splurge, but with both Carter's and my income now, we were able to recover from that financial drought.
The apartment was beyond gorgeous. It had tons of natural lighting, which I loved with all the windows. It's the perfect size for us. Carter let me do all the decorating since he doesn't have a single interior design bone in his body.
Luckily, I was able to leave the club the day before graduation. I was a little upset to leave but was more relieved than anything.
I ended up getting a job in digital marketing at Madison Square Garden, which is lovely. I love my job so much, and I get to see Carter when I finish my work day as he ends practice at the same time.
Carter and I are still going strong. Our love has grown so much since college. He is my rock.
He treats me like a queen. Even with his hectic hockey schedule, all his practices, and having to go to away games, he makes time for me. We spend a lot of our time at the apartment since he has become extremely popular in the social world. Every time I go on TikTok, there is a fan edit about him. He thinks it is funny, but I tend to get possessive. This man is mine, ladies. Stay far, far away.
I am now sitting in the stands at Madison Square Garden, watching Carter play in the Stanley Cup. They finally made it! They had an undefeated season which led them to the Stanley Cup, and I couldn't be prouder of him. This has been his dream since he was little.
I am sitting with Tracy and Jensen.
Jason ended up getting drafted to the Rangers, too, which Jensen and I were super happy about because I couldn't live without my best friend. They live together in another apartment complex not far from ours. So we get to attend every game together, even for away games when we don't join the boys. We have a girls' night at one of our apartments, watch the game, and order take-out.
Jensen ended up opening her own boutique, which was very successful. I am so proud of her; this has been her biggest goal, and she has done it. She always shows me her newest arrivals and gives me so many clothes to take home. So now the walk-in closet in Carter and I's bedroom has become my closet, and I made Carter take over the guest room closest. Whoops.
It is now the final period of the game, and It is a tie. It has been a close game. I finally understand Hockey after watching it for four years in a row.
I am dressed in my work clothes since I had to stay later today to promote the game and rush down to the arena just before it started.
I am wearing a navy long-sleeve top with a square neck, loose black dress pants with a belt, and black heels.
I might be overdressed, but this is an important game, and I wasn't going home to get changed.
It has come down to the final seconds, and Carter has the puck. He is gliding across the ice as men chase him.
He raises his stick and swings it down, hitting the puck into the net as the buzzer goes off.
He scored!
We Won!
We won the Stanley Cup!
I can't believe it!
Jensen, Tracy, and I are jumping around with huge smiles on our face
We make our way onto the ice to congratulate the boys.
Jensen found Jason and ran to him, and gave him a massive hug while Tracy and I rushed to Carter
Tracy hugs him first, and I give them their moment. Tracy had been his number-one supporter long before I came along. When they finish their moment, Carter locks eyes with me with a beaming smile on his face.
I run into his arms. He picks me up and spins me in circles.
"Baby, you did it I'm so proud of you!" I say with tears sliding down my face.
"I did it, baby; that goal was for you," He says, putting me down
"I love you" I say
He doesnt respond as he takes a step back
What is he doing?
I look around and see that people have formed a circle around us with their phones out as if they are recording us.
I look back to Carter, and I gasp
Carter is on one knee with a ring box in his hand
I throw my hands over my face to hide my ugly cry
He takes my left hand, and I look down at him
"Brynn, These past four years with you have been the best years of my life. I wouldn't know what to do without you. You are the love of my life. I told you four years ago I wanted to spend forever with you. So Brynnley Rose Adams, will you make me the happiest man ever and become my wife?"
He opens the ring box
"Will you marry me?" he asks as tears start to puddle in his eyes
"Oh my god, Yes! Yes! Yes!" I say as he stands up.
I jump into his arms, crying into his shoulder
I pull back and smash my lips to his, giving him the biggest kiss ever
"I love you," I say
"I love you more, baby." He releases me from the hug and slides the ring onto my finger.
Holy shit
"Oh, Carter," I say, staring at the ring
"You like it?" he questions
"This ring is gorgeous. Must have cost you a Fortune," I say, admiring it on my finger
"Does it make you happy?" he asked
"You make me happier," I say, looking into his blue eyes
"Then the cost doesn't matter when I can spend the rest of my life with you, giving you a life long of happiness," he says
My lips quiver as I lean in to kiss him again
Our moment is over when his mom and Jensen run over to us with their congratulations
The girls take my hand and look at the ring while Carter's teammates lift him onto their shoulders, parading him around.
This is the perfect way to end the most amazing night.
