-Chapter three-

Amelia slipped back into her cabin when it was already pitch dark. The admonishing glance Lee shot her made it clear that she had only barely missed curfew. A silent apology and a sigh later, he dismissed her with a nod. She quickly wandered over to her bunk bed.

Weird noises woke her. Unlike Luke she couldn't just turn around and continue to Sleep. Amelia brushed her hair with her fingers and slipped into some old houseshoes. Barely outside she was met with gossiping campers. She turned her head pushing herself up on her tippy toes to oversee the people and make out her siblings or Luke. When did those kids turn into God dam trees? There was no way most of these people were that much taller than herself.

Someone bumped into her from the side, almost knocking her off her feet. No. Balance was also not something she would list as a skill. Cursing under her breath she looked over her shoulder to see some Aphrodite girl giggling. Why they had it out for her? No idea. Maybe it was about that prank Luke and his cabin pulled on them a few days back? He had rambled down something about putting pigments into their shampoo bottles and switching contents of peoples wardrobes. Which was more annoying than it sounded considering you couldn't enter a cabin you weren't part of.

A breeze hit her giving her goosebumps which was somewhat odd. Amelia rubbed her arms in an attempt to get rid of the feeling. Right then a jacket was wrapped around her shoulders. "Luke." She exclaimed surprised. He gave her a short smile and kiss on the cheek before he presses a hand to her lower back getting her to walk with him. "What is happening?" she asked curiously. There was a frown on his face but it lacked the usual rage in his eyes.

"A new kid, he is pretty beat up. Could you take a look?" Her eyes wandered but not one of her siblings was anywhere nearby. Again odd. What was going on here? "Where is Dawn? Shouldn't she be doing this?"

"I dont know. I do know the kid needs medical attention. Please?" Like he had to actually ask her to help someone who needed it. With no further fuss she walked over to the infirmary with fast steps Luke hot on her heels. She checked the crowd one last time form the far and even though nothing was wrong she couldn't shake the feeling something was, terribly so.

Annabeth sat in the infirmary watching the new arrival. On any other day she would have been excited for some company, right now she hoped the girl would leave as soon as she saw he was being attended to. Of course, that didn't happen. If she embarrassed herself again, this time it wasn't just her sister witnessing it. But sure, please stay.

"Can I help?" Annabeth asked. Amelia just vaguely pointed to the cabinet they kept nectar in before laying her hands on the boys head. Her hands burned up immediately concluding Luke had been rightfully calling the kid beaten up. "Again, what happened to the kid?"

"He fought the minotaur." Annabeth mumbled as she returned to her side. Following her eyes, she found the girl was looking with genuine interest at the boy in the bed. Amelia bit her lip stifling a laugh when Luke noticed too. He seemed incredibly concerned. What did he expect? A new kid coming in killing the minotaur without any training whatsoever and lived.

That was something to be rightfully interested in. It also explained the crowd of people outside their cabins. That kid was not going to hear the end of it. "Give him some nectar. I don't want him to wake up to me healing him." She explained as Luke shot her a questioning gaze. No broken bones other than ribs, those she could set with a simply hymn to her father while the nectar slowly began to work.

Her healing abilities had helped somewhat as did the nectar Annabeth dutifully fed to him while she was busy. Luke had already taken off to the training grounds when she finally backed off the guy. After checking up on her patient once more to make sure he was good for a few hours she left Annabeth on watch duty.
