-Chapter five-
Amelia Marlowe
She massaged her temples, it was late. She just wished she could deal with this later. That whole conversation was something to be dealt with when she wasnt running on three hours of sleep. Sitting on her bed she couldnt find rest. It wasn't yet curfew but too much had happened today for her to risk to go outside again. If only she could forget and ignore that confrontation a bit longer.
Then there was a knock on the door. Her head shoot up and she groaned when a sharp pain from her neck hit her.
Nobody knocked here, nobody but Luke. The thing was Amelia wasn't so sure she wanted him to knock or to be there at all. "I know you're in there, I know you can hear me. Can you tell me what's wrong?" For a could minute nobody talked. He should just go away. Time passed but she heard him shifting in front of her door. Some of her younger siblings were already tucked in their bunk beds which reminded her once again she was no longer a kid, hiding won't change anything. It was clear he wouldn't go away so she pried the blanket away from her face.
"There is nothing to talk about." Amelia assured, trying to get him to give up.
"Don't do that, not with me."
Liar, was what he had meant to call her she was sure. Her heart clenched violently. A voice in the back of her head sounding terrifyingly much like her own mother hissed sinner. Amelia held onto her bedframe carefully pushing herself on numb legs. Lee would want to talk to her soon too, she probably scared her older siblings by disappearing into herself. It was how she worked, how she coped yet the more she explained that the more they worried.
"Come on, we don't do this. We do not go to sleep angry, Elia." She opened the door in his face catching him of guard and sending him stumbling back a little. Without a word she silently closed the door behind her as not wake her already sleeping siblings.
Amelia blinked, forcing her eyes to focus on her boyfriend in the dark. It was difficult for her. One of the downsides of being a kid of Apollo was their bad sight in the dark. It was somehow tied in with the fact he was the sun god. Honestly she never really questioned it. "You want to talk, then talk."
The first day back was always the worst but the second wasnt much better. That must be the reason why they had gotten into this situation in the first place. She was always too sensitive when she came from home.
"You were upset, and I didn't know what to do. I should have come after you and Im sorry I didn't. I want to understand this, there is more to it than what you told me and- just. I need you to know that I'm here, but I can only help you if you let me." He offered, nodding as if to assure himself that is what he wanted.
She stared at him unmoving.  That Percy kid had taken a good bit out of her. Healing was like any other trainable skill when you stopped doing it, it faded. Powers grew weaker and as she avoided all things demigod at home, hers did drastically. She was exhausted to say the least, especially after what prospect was just thrown at her.
Not the time to have this conversation.
"I don't want your help. I am not a problem that needs fixing, I am not a kid, you don't need to take care of me. My father-" She didn't dare end her sentence. No, she wasn't like that. Amelia would not be ungrateful for the attention her father did grant her.
"Yes, he should be taking care of you. Yet, he isn't here. We only have us to lean on, so lean onto me. Give me your burden to carry and I'll gladly carry it with you." He said.
Luke would never understand, not if she explained it thoroughly, only if he lived through it, hed really know. That feeling she wouldn't wish on anybody especially not on him. "You wouldnt get it." She whispered. He took her had pressing his burning hot one against hers.
