I take a seat beside Billy on the couch, his arm sitting around my waist as I rest myself against his chest.

"Right," Max walks over dropping herself next to my feet lifting up two VHS tapes, "Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street?"

I giggle using Billy's thigh to lean towards her, "Hm.. I don't think Nightmare on Elm street is that scary."

"Soooo, Friday the 13th?"

I smile, giving her a nod, "One hundred percent."

She goes over to the TV pushing the VHS into it. Billy pulls me back into him, sliding his hand round my stomach as my head rests on his shoulder, "Good choice.." I look up and giggle.

"Thank you.."

He smirks, placing a kiss against my nose, forcing the colour in my cheeks to brighten. The sound of the TV cutting the moment short.

Our parents stand in the kitchen watching us. The thought that Billy was actually willing to spend time with Max bouncing around their conversations.

Dad's Pov:

"Have they always been this close? Him and my daughter?" I question Neil, his head turns to our children.

Watching Brie be so comfortable with someone is honestly so heart-warming, it's unexpected and even with Steve or Abby she's not like this. And seeing that boy feel the same way about her, seeing anyone feel the same way about her is.. it's a miracle. And I'm so happy for her. Even if I'm not the biggest fan of him at the moment.

"Yes they have. Me and Elizabeth never expected them to get along seeing how different they are to one another. But it worked, and they grew up almost like siblings to each other. I'm actually surprised they're still so close."

I smile at his words before catching up, making my smile fall to a frown, "Why surprised? They've grown up together, you said so yourself. 13 years no?"

"Well yes but my son has changed a lot in the past few years. People like your daughter, he'd usually dismiss or avoid, however I'm guessing because of their past he's decided to make an exception. Its uhm.. nice, to see him like that with someone. Someone decent aswell."

I scoff, offended for Brie but also at how unnecessarily rude he always is, "Sorry, decent?"

"Well I don't know her very well, but she's not here to sleep with him and she's good with Max so yeah, decent's a good word to describe her."

"Is that how you view all your son's friends? As whores? And-"

"No. His friends are all okay but every girl he brings over ends up sleeping with him. So I'm sorry I would assume that from anyone else."

"Trust me, Brie's had trouble with boys herself, I'm not letting anyone I don't know near her. It's why we have these dinners, or one of the reasons anyways, so I can get to know them."

"Your daughter sleep around a lot?"

I chuckle shaking my head, "Quite the opposite actually. Boys seem to find her an easy target for things like that, she's not the strongest young girl so yeah.. she has trouble with the boys at her school."

"I'm sorry," Susan steps closer, her eyes widen again, "Do you mean.."

I nod calmly, taking reassurance from the view of my child, "Yes I mean that.." I take a minute to steady my breathing as I feel myself tensing from the thought of it.

"Is she okay? Thats horrible.."

I don't take my eyes off of her, the only thing able to distract me from the bad in the world anymore, "I'm not too sure to be honest with you."
