I could have promised,
With all my heart,
To never leave you,
To stay together forever.But I do not,
For it is not true.
We cannot cling together,
When our paths fork away.The truth is,
I may never meet you again,
In this life,
Or the next.I could have made false promises,
Made just to stop your tears,
But they would be just that,
False and untrue.We may never meet again,
But do not weep,
Because, today, right now,
We are still together.
