".... Are you okay?..."
Talia sat behind her shades, she wouldn't take them off. She didn't want anyone to see her eyes, to see deep into her soul and see how she was really feeling.
"T.. talk to me....
Talia said nothing, but she looked to the side as she saw everyone else, turn to stare who was walking through the middle of the crematorium.
"oh, you have got to be fucking kidding me!" She said under her breath, but loud enough that Jocelyn could hear her."Is that yo dad?.." she asked her.
"I don't have a father, he was just a fucking sperm donor...
Talia's father went to the front row of seats and sat himself pride of place. People were consoling him and giving their condolences on the loss of the twins.
Both Cara and Alfie never survived the crash, that fateful evening in New York. When their bodies were finally dragged from the wreckage, they were already dead. Amelia did make it, and so did her pregnancy.Talia sunk further into her seat as her father took to the front, and turned to look at everybody, pulling a piece of paper from his crumpled suit jacket, one which he borrowed from someone, because she knew he never owned a suit of his own
He cleared his throat and looked around everyone sitting before him .
"Firstly, I want to thank everybody for being here to remember the lives of two amazing young kids in the youth of their life. It was the beginning of everything for them... I should've been more of a father to them, and I kick myself every day for allowing my eldest daughter to take them to another state, miles away from me where their lives were in danger from the second they left LA...." He paused, as people looked back at Talia.
"I try not to blame my eldest, we all know that she has led a crazy messed up life since she was in her early teens..."I wasn't driving the fucking car you know!." Talia snapped, standing up so that everyone could see her. The anger was surging inside of her.
The gasps from everybody who were seated at this remembrance of the twins lives, could be heard audibly around the room."Talia sit down!." Her uncle Tyler said. "Just sit down... this is not your day, don't make it about you.."
Talia hated her family, her life was the way it was because of her father and her estranged mother. She sat down because she could feel everyone's eyes burning into her, and it wasn't the place to be voicing, her opinions on anything. she missed the twins, just as much as everybody else, she grieved for them. She loved both of them and wanted them to do well in life, this was not what she had expected for them.
Her father continued. " They were both very bright and happy characters, even though their mother had left them a very young age. They always had a smile on their faces. I miss them terribly. We were very close at home. We did a lot of things together...
"Fucking liar!." Talia said once again under her breath. Jocelyn looked at her. She could see that Talia was getting heated more and more the longer that she stayed there.
