THE DOUBLE STRAY CHARMANDER TRAGEDY!

KONICHIWA, FOLKS! KAMENCJ HERE WITH ANOTHER CHAPTER OF POKERIDERS! NOW REAL QUICK, I WAS REREADING THE FIGHT BETWEEN SERENA AND THE IVYSAUR YUMMY, AND I REALIZED I GOT SOMETHING WRONG! THE CHIKORITA LINE IS NOT GRASS/POISON! IT'S PURE GRASS! MEANING I NEED TO GET TO REWRITING THAT! (Sooner or later since the holiday weeks have been brutal.) ANYWAY, HERE WE GET A POKEMON IVE BEEN DYING TO REWRITE THE STORY OF FOR A WHILE, SINCE I NEVER GOT WHY HE CHANGED AFTER EVOLVING. AND GIVING SERENA ANOTHER ONE I THINK IS GREAT FOR PERFORMANCES. ANYWAY ENOUGH JABBERING! HENSHIN!

"AGAIN WITH THE DETOUR, ASH!?" Ritchie wailed as, once again, Ash's belt had made them divert off the main path. Ash glared at Ritchie for yelling, while Misty grabbed her head in frustration, Brock checking the map to make sure they didn't go too far off the road, while Serena and Molly were using the downtime to brush Fennekin and Teddiursa's fur.

"Ritchie, either you stop CATERWAULING, or I tape your mouth shut until we get to Vermillion!" Ash yelled, having had enough of this complaining. Did he want to get to Vermillion as fast as his cousin? YES! But he also wanted to keep an eye out for Pokémon that had the symbol.

Brock then brought up the map as Serena finished brushing Fennekin and began brushing Eevee.

"If it eases you, Ritchie, this path DOES connect to route 24, which is a direct path to Vermillion city. Plus, there is a Pokémon Center on the way. Supplies could use a topper so we will be hitting there." Ritchie found this acceptable.

"Look, I don't want to do this 24/7. I can understand that the Belts are important, but we don't even know how Luca turned that spiderweb Bottle into a Chikorita bottle." Hearing this, Serena turned with an angry glare at Ritchie, who immediately wished he had kept his mouth shut.

"Ritchie. I will not repeat what Ash said. Either you stop caterwauling, or we get the Psyduck Tape out. Your choice." She said icily as she finished up Eevee, who flaunted her shiny coat to a blushing Pikachu. Ritchie sighed and then made a motion that he was ready to move on and not make any noise.

With that, everyone got ready to leave when Serena saw a big shadow and dove behind Ash, who was also ready for a fight.

What everyone saw ...

Was a bright orange lizard like Pokémon ...

With a symbol on his chest of his species.

Ash, Ritchie and Brock immediately recognized this as the shiny variant of the Fire Starter.

"A shiny Charmander!?" It was clear it heard them as it then glared at them and shifted its body.

Albeit very shakily and clearly not in tip top shape.

Ash left his bag and Pokémon with everyone else as he slowly climbed the rock, concerned for the Charmander. Bulbasaur had told him his story, how he was left to be a sacrifice by his family. Had the same thing happened to this shiny Charmander?

As he reached the too, going slow as to not aggravate the little guy, he then noticed something behind him.

Behind the shiny Charmander...

Was a regular Charmander.

And it was in even worse shape than the shiny.

The shiny Charmander growled at him, clearly being more concerned with the injured one behind him.
