It was bright early morning, the rain stop and the birds are chirping. Hope started to make some breakfast. She called her father. "Hi, dad. Everything is going great. I didn't call before because the storm was bad here. I will be staying here at Aunt Lucy's farm about a month until I settle her farm. So, don't worry, I'll call you. Ok. I love you."As Hope hang up, John was coming down the stairs. "What is that wonderful smell?" as John came into the kitchen."It's breakfast, how do you like your eggs?""Oh, just over easy will do." "How did you sleep?" asked Hope while laying down the dishes."I slept great. I didn't hear the roaring of thunder or the rain. I slept like a baby."Hope was serving breakfast when there was a knock on the door. She went to open it.There was a small middle age man on the porch."May I help you?" asked Hope."My name is Jerry Nile. I'm the caretaker here for five years. I was your Aunt Lucy's friend. I was the one whom found her. I'm sorry about her passing. I came by to see if you needed any help.""Well, Mr. Nile. You can tell me everything about the farm. Would you like to join us for breakfast?" "Sure, if it not any trouble." Mr. Nile was wiping his boots before entering the home. "Mr. Nile this is John O'Bryan my Aunt Lucy's attorney. He is handling my aunt's will. How long you been working for my aunt again?""It's been five years. Your aunt was a lovely person. I'm going to miss her. She helped me when I needed work. I come here to feed the animals and helped around the farm. I will come over for dinner sometimes for she can have some company. She told me that she had a niece, but she didn't tell me you were beautiful. Your aunt asks me to keep the place up if something had happen to her. So, that's why I'm here today.""Well, Mr. Nile I'm here because my aunt left me this farm in her will. I'm going to sell it because I have my own ranch back home. I can't be here to run it. Will you be interested in working here until I find a buyer?" ask Hope."Yes I am interested.""Ok then. You can start right now. I pay you every week it's alright with you." "Yes it is.""Mr. O'Bryan and I will be going to town. We'll be back about two hours."John and Hope started off to town. The people were out doing their daily routine. They got to the post office to check on her aunt's mail. Then, they went to the café to have some lunch."It's so peaceful here that I can't remember how it was when I was young." as Hope was drinking her glass of tea.John just can't keep his eyes off on Hope. He looks at her like he knew her forever. "Sure it is. Hope can I ask you a question. When you sell the farm are you planning to visit back again?""No, I'm not. There is nothing here for me.""Why did you ask?""I just was wandering. I wander we can still be friends when you leave here." John was disappointed of her answer. He thought she may stay longer for he was admiring by her beauty."I guess we should head back to the farm."They drove back to the farm and started to look into the papers of the will."John, I'm curious why my aunt didn't give the farm to Mr. Nile since he helps her in the farm. I mean he comes here to help and keeps her company. Can I give the farm to him?""Hope, I believe you can if you wish. But, first you must ask Mr. Nile if he likes to have the farm. If he agrees, we just draw up the papers.Mr. Nile walks into the living room. "Miss Brooks the animals has been feed I will return later in the day.""Will you sit down for a while Mr. Nile?""Mr. Nile I ask you to stay to ask you if you like to have my aunt's farm since you both were friends?""Miss Brooks, I will be delighted. But, I can't accept it because I don't have the money. I mean your aunt and I were good friends and I will like to buy the farm." Mr. Nile smiled with great pride. "I want to give it to you since you ran the place when my aunt was alive. Mr. O'Bryan can draw up the papers under your name. "said Hope."Miss Brooks, I will gladly accept your offer. I promised I will keep the place up." said Mr. Nile."It's all settle then. I draw up the papers, it will take some time." as John was putting away the legal papers.
