It was around four in the afternoon. Hope was still at the kitchen table. Her father walk in and saw her there just sitting. "Honey what's the matter?" "Oh dad I just can't make up my mind. I feel like I'm invading my grandmother privacy."said Hope. "Hope just open it. You want me be here when you read it." Mr. Brooks volunteers as though he was a psychologist. "No dad I'll opened it." Mr. Brooks left the room. She picks up the letter gently. The letter was old and wrinkly. The corner of the letter has the date of the postage stamp. Hope removed the letter and unfolded it. It reads:
Dear Lucy, How are you doing? I hope you and your new husband is doing fine. I myself am doing fine. I am writing to let you know that your daughter is doing great. She is growing fast I wish you were here to see her. I know we had an agreement but I wish she can meet her real mother. I was not the best mother in the world but when you were with Billy I just went crazy. When you told me how much you loved him I believe you. The town's people believe that my child is your baby sister but I just doing what you ask. I want you to reconsider what you are doing. I know you don't what your husband know that you had a child and that you still loved Billy. Please think about what I said. I love you so much. I just want the pass be the pass. Your daughter needs you now because I won't live forever and just can't keep this secret from her so long. She is a lovely child and does her schoolwork very well. Please Lucy tell your husband before it is too late. Maybe he will understand and he will raise her as his own. Remember your daughter Sarah is growing up fast. Love, your mother
Hope was in shock. Sarah was the name of her mother. Her mother was the child of Lucy's. Her aunt was not her aunt she was her grandmother and her grandmother was her great-grandmother. Hope didn't know what to think. She just stares out into space and started to cry. Hope was so angry. She got up from the table and started to throw dishes and glasses. She yelled so loudly that her father walks into the kitchen. Her father saw her rage and didn't understand what was happening. John also walks into the kitchen and saw her. Both of them tries to calm Hope down but couldn't stop her. Hope ran out of the kitchen. Her father picks up the letter and reads it. He couldn't believe what he has read and show it to John."Mr. Brooks we need to find Hope. How can her Aunt Lucy betray her like this I mean her real grandmother?" said John with a concern face."Your right Mr. O'Bryan we need to find her. You are the perfect choice for the job because I know you have feelings for her John. I could see it while having lunch today. I know my daughter very well. John go and find her." said Mr. Brooks."Ok Mr. Brooks I'll go and find her I won't disappoint you." as John went and get his keys of his car and walks out of the door. John drives down the road if he can spot Hope walking but no luck. He went into town and looks every store and the church but still no luck. He talks to every person he seen and ask if they had seen Hope but no one has seen her. John was running out of options. He began to worry and didn't know where Hope can be at. Then there is one place to look, he drive to the Clarkdale Cemetery. John got out of the car. He walks around to see if he can see Hope. But, he didn't see her. He was really worried now. It was getting dark and hard to see. John left the cemetery and headed back to the farm. He got there and seen Mr. Brooks outside the porch. "Mr. Brooks have Hope got back?" said John. "No John and I'm getting worried. It's getting late." said Mr. Brooks."I will start early morning to search for her." said John. They went in the house and got ready for bed
