"Her Protector"

Side story

Eon Jin wokes up and she smile when Tae Pyung is on her side and wrapping his one arm on her and holding her right wrist with his another hand. Her eyes widen when she saw her birthmark glows, "huh?!" She said. Tae Pyung woke up when Eon Jin trying to release her wrist from his hold, "don't My Princess, if you want to feel better..." He whispered. Eon Jin look at him. "What do you mean?" She asked. Tae Pyung look at her and he smile, "I'm happy that you're okay now.." He whispered. Eon Jin also observe herself. It's still night but her body feel better although there's still pain in her chest but it's not worst unlike before. She seated up and look at her body. "What's this? Why do I feel that I'm okay now under the full moon?" Eon Jin said as she was so shocked. Tae Pyung smile and seated next to her. "I'm going to tell you my secret If you allow me to know yours..." He said. Eon Jin look at him. "I know there's something you need to hide forever but still, there's no secret can hide forever Eon Jin... You can tell me so I can protect you and help you..." He said. Eon Jin look at him. Your Royal Highness... Is Wol Sook told you about something?" Eon Jin asked. Tae Pyung still holding her wrist as he smiling. "No, she didn't want to tell me.... But I have a hint about it, My Princess..." Tae Pyung said. Eon Jin look at him and her eyes landed on her birth mark that still glowing while Tae Pyung touching it.

"What's this? How you do it? And why it's glowing?" She asked. Tae Pyung smile, "You can tell me everything.... As I promise that you can trust me, Eon Jin..." He said. Eon Jin smile. "If I'll tell you, you're going to protect me for life... I'll be a burden to you and I don't want it..." She said. Tae Pyung caress her face, "I'm willing to protect you and I know you already knew it. I love you and I will never see you as a burden to me, Eon Jin..." He said. Eon Jin smile as she let out a breath of relief.

"I inherit my grandmother's gift of healing, Tae Pyung. I can heal everyone and any kind of sickness but I can't bring the dead come back alive." Eon Jin said and let out a small laugh. Tae Pyung let out a small laugh as he silently listening to her. "I can't tell this to anyone because it's for my own safety just like my parents told me. Everytime I use my gift, my body becomes weaker and in pain." She explained. Tae Pyung recall what happened to her at the small shelter as he look at her through her eyes. "That's what happened to you when you healed Man ja, am I right?" He said. Eon Jin nodded, "Yes... And to gain my strength and to feel better, I need calia flower to treat myself. It's funny right, I can heal everyone except on myself." Eon Jin said and let out a peal of Laughter. "But I can't use that flower and it's dangerous for me to come closer to it when it's full moon just like tonight." She said. "Did you mean, the rare flower at the greenhouse? And why?" Tae Pyung asked. Eon Jin nodded, "Yes that's it. Because it's poisonous for me if I will come closer to Calia flower when full moon that's why my parents told me that I need to be careful and don't use my gift in times like this. It's for my own safety." She said.

"This is the first time that the pain are lessen. And I feel better under the full moon, Tae Pyung..." She said and she smile while looking at her body. Tae Pyung hug her and she was so startled. "That is because of our love..." Tae Pyung whispered. Eon Jin look at him with puzzlement. "The power of our love release the power of this necklace to protect you against the energy of full moon, Eon Jin." He explained. "That's why your birth mark continue to glow while I holding you." He added. Eon Jin got surprised and her eyes widen, "Really?" She said as she was so amazed. Tae Pyung nodded. "Where did you get that?" She asked. "It's from physician Kwon..." He said. Eon Jin got shocked, "Did he knows my condition too? How?" Eon Jin said and she got worried that there's someone knew about her gift.

"Relax, he's here to protect you, Eon Jin... You can trust him." Tae Pyung said. "He said that this necklace is given by your grandmother to him. And it's especially made for someone to protect just like you who has a gift of healing. And now, it's the time that I'll be the one who will use this, to be your protector, Your Highness.." He continue. Eon Jin smile and her heart fluttered but at the same time she was so surprised on the revelation about physician Kwon. "So my instinct was right." Eon Jin said. Tae Pyung look at her. "Halmeoni love someone else... My mother told me about my grandmother being force to marry someone she doesn't love. And  now I learned that her great first love is physician Kwon..." She said with a smile on her face. Eon Jin look at him, "I'm lucky that I have a chance to marry the man that I love..." She said. Tae Pyung kiss her and look at her eyes, "And this man love you too more than his life..." He whispered.

It's already dawn when Physician Kwon return to her chamber to check on her condition. The two still seated next to each other while Physician Kwon sit opposite to them. "Physician Kwon, it's fate that bring us on the first they that we met. I'm so happy to meet my grandmother's first love." Eon Jin said. Physician Kwon smile and look at her. "Did you know that you're really like her, Your Highness? Your grandmother is a kindhearted and warm person just like you. I'm so happy to know that you inherit her gift." Physician Kwon said. Eon jin smile. "But be careful that someone wicked will know about your gift, Your Highness... But I assure you that as long as I live I will be here for the both of you." Physician Kwon said. Tae Pyung and Eon Jin look at to each other and they're pressed each other hand gently under the table.

"Crown Prince, you will be her protector from now on. But there's something I need to tell you..." Physician Kwon said. Tae Pyung and Eon Jin look at him. "What is it?" Tae Pyung asked. "New life is soon to come, Your Royal Highness... You need to protect it from the danger." Physician Kwon said. "What do you mean, physician Kwon?" Eon Jin said. "Your Highness.... You must prepared yourself for this precious life... but always be careful on whatever you take. That's all I can say..." Physician Kwon said.

"New life? Precious life?" Eon Jin whispered. "Physician Kwon, can I make a request to you?" Tae Pyung said. Physician Kwon nodded, "Yes Your Royal Highness..." He said. "Starting this day, I will assign to you about the Crown Princess health, her food and medicines she will take. Wol Sook and Man Bok will be your assistant for that." Tae Pyung said. Physician Kwon smile, "Yes Your Royal Highness..." Physician Kwon said.
