Camilas POV

I walked into my living room after Lauren dropped me off at home, persistent to find out what Josh meant when he told me to ask my mom about him. How did my mom and dad know Josh?
"Mom, can I ask you something?" I asked, sitting down slowly on the sofa across from where she was sitting reading her book. She jumped slightly when I spoke, obviously not aware of my presence.

"I guess so. What's bothering you?" She asked, carefully resting her book on the arm of the sofa. Her eyes looked tired, and her face looked pale. She'd been working a lot lately in order to earn money to pay bills and feed me, Sofi and herself. I'd barely spent any time with her at all since my father died, I was actually surprised she was here when I came through the door.

"There's this boy-"
"I thought you were g-I thought you were dating Lauren?" She asked, rubbing her temple as though she had a headache. "No, Mami, I am. This isn't about a boy I like." I assured her before continuing. "There's this boy, and well, we haven't been getting along since I met him, when we first moved here." I started. "Is he bullying you? If he is, you can tell me." She said, yawning. I felt bad keeping her up, so I'd have to make this quick.

"No, he's not." I lied. "It's just, well he's started...defending me, so to speak. And when I confronted him and asked him why, he told me to ask you." I explained, pulling the sleeves of my hoody over my hands, tugging at the material.

"Well what's his name?" My mom asked, looking slightly confused.
"His names Josh...Josh Cuthbert. He's in my year. He's British and I don't understand how he knows you, and he knew Dad too I think." I explained, but when I looked up, my mothers face was even more pale, as she stood up quickly, frantically pacing around the living room. "I don't know him." She stated coldly. She was lying and I knew it.
"Please Mami, it's really important." I practically begged. "Now is not the time, Karla!" She shouted, taking me by surprise.

"Now is not the time for this conversation." My mom said, a lot more calmly, looking almost apologetic for lashing out. "I'm tired, and aching. I've been working for 12 days straight Camila. Im sorry, I'll tell you soon enough...just not tonight, okay?" She asked, as I nodded reluctantly.
Knowing my mother knew who Josh was was going to eat me alive. I was so curious and desperate to know. But I guess I'd just have to wait.

"I'm going to bed, if I'm not here when you wake up, I'm at work. Sofi is back from grandmas house tomorrow, so I'll try and be here for a family dinner. Maybe you can bring Lauren?" My mom asked, as she pressed a light kiss to my forehead.
"I love you Mami." I told her, as she exited the room.
"I love you too, Karla." She told me, as I could hear her footsteps ascending up the stairs.

"So, did you ask your mom about Josh?" Lauren asked me later that night, while I was on the phone to her.
"Actually, I did." I said awkwardly.
"And?..." Lauren urged me to continue.
"Well...she got really weird and defensive as soon as I mentioned his name...she wouldn't tell me why though." I said, sighing in frustration, throwing myself backwards on to my bed.

"Hey babe, don't stress okay? Well figure this out, I promise." Lauren told me. How did I get so lucky to have such a caring girlfriend?
"I love you." I told her, as she chuckled lightly. "I love you too." She replied adoringly.

"So how did anger management go?" I asked, as she let out a deep sigh. "Can we not talk about it?" She asked, almost pledingly. I'm guessing it didn't go well. "If you don't want to, you know I'd never make you." I told her, as she let out a relieved sigh this time. "Thanks, love." She said, causing my heart to swell.

"Anyways...you wanna come to dinner with me, Sofi and possibly my mom tomorrow night?" I asked hopefully.
There was a pause on the other side, as I waited patiently for a reply.
"Uh...yeah. Sure." She finally replied, as I furrowed my eyebrows. Something was up with her. I didn't want to ask, if I did, she'd just get upset. Lauren wasn't one to talk about her feelings.

"Okay, good." I smiled, even though I knew she couldn't see me.
"I also think we should take Sofi to the cinema on Saturday. You promised her a couple of weeks ago we'd take her, and she's been bugging me about it." Lauren said, laughing her adorable laugh. I chucked with her before the smile faded from my face. "I don't know lauren, since my Dad...money's been really tight. The cinema is really expensive Lauren." I said, dissopointed. "I'm paying, doofus." Lauren said, as I went silent.

"Lauren, you don't have-"
"I know I don't have to, I want to." She said and continued before I could protest. I don't like seeing Sofi dissopointed, or you for that matter. And when Sofi looks sad, you look sad. Think of it as Sofi tagging along to our date." Lauren said, trying to convince me and lighten the mood.

"You want to make my little sister the third wheel?" I joked, as Lauren started laughing.

"No, I just...please Camzi?" She asked, and I knew she was pouting on the other end.
"Fine! But I'm going to do something nice for you soon! I promise." I told her, finally giving in.

We talked for a while longer before finally exchanging "I love yous" and hanging up for the night.
I fell asleep pretty much instantly after such an exhausting day.

I will find out how my mom and Josh know eachother, soon.

AN: If only you knew, Camila.
Anyways, I finally have INTENRET! Thank you everyone for being patient and sticking with this. This was just a short chapter to apologise for the lack of updates, and since I have internet now, updates will be ALOT more frequent:)
(also, even though I have made Josh Cuthbert the bully, I don't have anything against him! In fact I'm a J-Cat and love him! I just think his build and stuff fits the character.)
