Chapter 7

Camilas POV

I walked through my front door, scared of what my mom wanted to talk to me about.

"Karla? Come here please?" My mom shouted from the living room, obviously she heard me come through the door.

"Look, I know I said we weren't moving for a couple of weeks yet...but there's been a little bit of a change of plan." My mom explained. "What-what do you mean?" I asked, as my legs started shaking due to my nerves.

"If we want the house we have to be moved into it by the weekend...we leave not tomorrow but the next day." My mom said, placing her hand on my shoulder. "2 days?! Mom you can't just-"

"Yes, I can just. I'm your mother Karla, and I'm doing what's best for me, you and Sofi. I know it's going to be hard, and I know you don't want to, but we don't have any other choice. It's either that, or live on the streets." She explained. In a way I understood, but why did we have to move so far away. I'd just started to find happiness, and now it was being ripped away from me. How could I tell Lauren the news, this would break her. "Sweetheart, I am sorry for the way I acted about you and Lauren. She's a lovely girl and I know she'll treat you right. I was stressed about your farther and the move coming up so soon. Look, I'm staying in the hotel with your sister again tonight, and since you'll be packing all day tomorrow, invite Lauren over tonight. Spend sometime together. Say goodbye. I'm really sorry about all this...I really am." My mom said, kissing my head. I let the tears fall as I gave my mom a tight hug. "Thank you Mami, for everything you've done for this family. I don't know why Papi is the way he is, but I know you're trying. I love you." I told her, kissing her cheek. "I love you too. I'm going to pick Sofi up, and then well be back in the morning to pack. Tell Lauren im sorry for the way I acted." My mom said standing up, picking up her keys, and leaving.

I waited a while before calling Lauren, instead calling my 3 best friends first.

First to tell ManiBear.

"Hey Mani?" I asked when someone picked up. "Hey, Mila, what's wrong you sound like you've been crying?" She asked. "I uh...I need to tell you something." I said, biting the inside of my cheek to avoid crying. "Okay, you're scaring me." She said. I don't think iv ever heard her sound so serious. "I'm moving house. In 2 days." I told her, fighting back the tears. "Oh cool, where abouts? Oh my gosh, are you moving into that house 3 doors down from me?" She asked excitedly. "No, mani, you don't get it...it's not cool! I'm moving about 8 hours away!" I told her, feeling horrible just dropping it on her. "Oh my gosh...why? Mila, you can't go. You're one of my best friends, we've always been together, me, you, Dinah and Ally...and your girlfriend, what does she think about this?" Normani asked. I could hear her crying, which made me feel even more guilty. "Please, mani don't hate me. I don't want to go. I want to stay, but we cant." I told her crying myself now. "Why? Why can't you stay?" She asked, almost whispered. "My mom and dad are splitting...and since the house is my dad's...we can't stay." I told her. "But...but I'll miss you." She said, her voice shaking. "I'll miss you all too! But we'll skype and call and visit and keep in touch. I love you all so much! I have to tell the others, come around my house tomorrow at about 7pm...I should be finished packing by then. Well say goodbye properly." I told her, taking a deep breath. "Okay Mila...I'll...I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." She said, crying, before I hung up and dialled Ally Cat.

"Hey Mila, what's up?" She asked as soon as she answered. She was always so happy and cheerful, and I felt guilty knowing I was about to completely crush her mood. "I...I uh need to talk to you." I told her, closing my eyes, even though she couldn't see me.

"Can it not wait until later. Not that I don't want to talk to you, but-"

"Ally it's serious." I told her, waiting patiently for a reply.
