Takeo was exhausted, to say the least. He had been having to go on missions non-stop for three days now. He hadn't seen either of his siblings in almost a week because Nezuko wasn't there, and she had Tanjiro. At this point just let them stay together, he'll be fine.
He got poisoned somewhere along the way, and the sun hasn't risen. Blood spilled from his mouth as he looked at the sky, that was getting lighter by the minute. He was saved.
A light blinded him as she looked at the horizon. Colors of orange, yellow, and pink swirled together in the dark blue sky. He coughed as the light blinded him. He closed his eyes, just for a moment of rest. It's all he wanted.
"Kaw! Kaw!" His crow pecked at his head. "Oww..." he groaned as he slowly sat up. His crow nuzzled in his lap as a way of comfort. He forced a smile, even though his throat was hoarse, he breathed out the words, "Th-thank you..." his crow flew up and he started limping after it.
He walked for a while, taking a rest for his rolled ankle. The crow waited for him to catch his breath. "So— what mission, do I have next?" He said slowly, taking notice of the broken rib that threatened to stab through his lung. His crow shook its head. "Head to the nearest wisteria house! Kaw!" He didn't know what it was talking about. "Wis-teria house...?" His crow simply nodded and started flying again. He limped after it faster.
He saw a house with a wisteria crest and his crow landed on a post, and threw itself at the door. A man came out and instantly bowed to Takeo, who jumped back.
He didn't expect to see two very familiar girls there. Nezuko and Mitsuri. He also saw his very own brother cowering under a blanket, his now long hair poking out. "Huh? Takeo!" She jumped up to hug him but her crow pecked at her. "You're to injured, kaw!" She shielded her head with her arms. Tanjiro shuffled over to her and Takeo. Mitsuri giggled. "Should I leave?" She asked. Nezuko shook her head. "N-no it's fine!"
Tanjiro was with Takeo, Nezuko, and Mitsuri. The sun had gone down and they were together outside. Mitsuri was braiding his hair, while Takeo was trying not to laugh at the braids in his brother's hair. Nezuko, on their other hand, was dying. She had rolled on the ground and was laughing so hard she could crack a rib, which she had already done.
Takeo couldn't take it and fell down with her. The two were laughing so hard that their faces were turning red and their cheeks were flushed with a shade of pink. Mitsuri finished and showed the two of them. She laughed at it two, and Tanjiro muffled something inaudible. He pat their heads and grew to his regular size. He sat on the ground with them.
"I'll really miss this when we have to leave again." Nezuko said looking up at the sky, her laughing ceased. She stared at the night sky in awe. "So let's enjoy it now!" Mitsuri said, jolting up. The two looked at each other. "I know how to make paper lanterns! Let's light up the yard!" She clasped her hands together. "We can light them with stones and twigs!" She stood up and reach her hands out to the two. Nezuko smiled and grabbed one of them. Takeo stood up on his own.
The four lit the lanterns and watched them float upwards. Tanjiro laid next to his brother, looking up at the glowing object. He wanted it to stay like this. He wish he knew the two, so he could cherish this memory all the more, but... things don't work like that, do they?

He felt the box being forced away from someone. His head hit the roof, he heard noises, Takeo's screaming, and worst of all, he felt the presence of a much stronger demon. He pushed the door open slightly to see his brother bleeding horribly. "If I saw any worth in you, I would have offered you to... become a demon.... But you're weak and worthless..."
Tanjiro felt himself freeze and the door shut on him. "What's... in here..?" Takeo grit his teeth. "Give that back you-!" A slash was sent at him. "What's in the box!" The demon screeched. Takeo felt a lump in his throat. Tanjiro couldn't take this, and sprinted for Takeo. He grabbed the boy and hid with him. Takeo stared at his elder brother, who was trying to stop the bleeding, stop the pain. He was crying.
They heard the gruff voice of the demon. Another swing of the sword and they were revealed. Tanjiro's muzzle was off now and the pain in his voice was heartbreaking. "I want you to live... so please run!" When Takeo refused to move, Tanjiro threw him. The boy went flying and Tanjiro was left alone.
He turned to look at the demon. The six eyes alone were terrifying.
The demon didn't look shocked, but his voice said everything. "Bro-ther..." he looked at the smaller demon. It looked like someone, he remembered it all. His name, his face, his voice, everything. The striking thing was the earrings, the exact ones. Uppermoon one knelt down to him. He was adjusting the muzzle so that it was back on. Tanjiro knew he couldn't fight him, so his best bet was to run for it.
When the demon tried to touch him he dashed away, praying he could get away fast enough. Kokushibo obviously gave chase, catching up quickly. Instead of cutting him, he grabbed the demons collar and pushed him to the ground. Tanjiro sunk his claws into his arm but he didn't move. Tanjiro was losing air and soon passed out.
