The preparations of the cars for Race wars were slowly coming to an end. Mae was so excited, just like every year. She loved winning a big bunch of money and then celebrating all night. But this year was different from all the previous ones, maybe because Brian was there, or maybe because Mae didn't race this year. She wanted to focus on her friends' racing.
Dom and the team arrived on Race wars in style, as every year. The crowd started cheering when they saw them arriving. This time, Mae's famous Mazda rx-7 didn't arrive, which everyone found weird. Mae got out of Brian's car together with him, everyone were surprised.
"Royal highness isn't racing this year?" A man from the crowd shouted, whistling.
"Hey! Watch your mouth man!" Brian reacted first, as he wrapped his hands around Mae's waist. He was very overprotective over his girl. She was the queen here, every guy wanted to be like her or either to be with her.
"I'll give you guys a chance, I won't kick your ass like all the years before" Mae laughed, Brian gave her hand a little squeeze, indicating that he wanted to leave. Mae didn't really understand why Brian was acting that way when they weren't dating. Of course, there were mutual feelings between them. They loved each other, but weren't officially dating. Why? Maybe it was too soon for relationship. Whatever was between Mae and Brian, they liked it that way.
"Why are you acting like this lately? Is something wrong?" Mae questioned Brian, she was frustrated about him being nervy and suspicious all the time.
"Everything's ok" He replied. This reply gave Mae even more signals that something was definitely wrong.
"Brian, if it's something about the things between us, you know- if I'm doing something wrong just let me know" Mae said with a shaky voice, anxiously playing with her necklace.
"What? No! Maevie, you're the best girl I've ever met. I love you more than anything. Just some shit at work happens" Brian said, holding her hand. Mae was very curious about what happened at his work, but Brian never wanted to talk about this subject, so she decided to not ask anymore.
"Seriously babe, I love you so much" Brian hugged her.
"Visualize the win Jesse, I'm serious. You got to listen to me, man" Leon explained but also tried to motivate him at the same time.
"Who are you racing?" Brian asked. A black Honda pulled up with Johnny Tran behind the wheel.
"Jesse don't do this, I bet you he's got more than a hundred thousand under the hood of that car" Brian's convincing Jesse about that not being the smartest move didn't work.
Jesse didn't even have time to answer and both cars sped off. Johnny made his way ahead of Jesse, this made Jesse jumpy, so he used his NOS. Jesse got into the lead, but his NOS was slowly running out, so Johnny used his, passing the finish line first. Jesse just had lost his car, in all that shock he just continued driving away.
"Where's he going?" Johnny asked, slamming car door.
"He went to the car wash" Dom said as Johnny walked towards him. Mae and Brian shared a worried look.
"Whatever. Go fetch my car" Johnny said, an angry look appeared on Dom's face.
"Go fetch your car? We're not on your block anymore. You better watch who you talk to like that" Dom said angrily, turning his face to Mae and Brian.
"Toretto!" Johnny yelled but Dom didn't answer, because his attention was still on Mae and Brian.
"Toretto! SWAT came into my house, disrespected my whole family because somebody narked me out! You know what? It was you!" Johnny yelled again, but this time Dom finally stopped.
Dom gave him a non-friendly punch into his face.
The security guards ran towards them, trying to tear them apart. Mae struggled to make her way through the crowd of people. She held Brian's hand so she wouldn't lose him in the crowd.
"Dom!" She yelled, before Mae could reach her brother, Vince ran up to him, pushing the guards away from him and quickly dragged him away.
"You're such an idiot, Dominic" Mae knelt down to Dom, who was sitting on the ground, looking to see if he was injured in any way. Thankfully he wasn't.
