Hot days on the west coast were supposed to be spent on beach, so Letty and Mae did. The girls laid the whole afternoon on the beach, tanning, swimming and of course gossiping. Mia couldn't go with them, she had a shift in shop & café. Unlucky.

"So tell me more about yesterday's night!" Letty sighed. Mae wasn't really talkative about yesterday. She just mentioned that she and Brian talked all night. Mae knew very well that Letty had had enough of him, so she didn't want to talk about him much.
"I already told you everything!" Mae defended herself, not working too much.
"You're unbelievable, you know that?" Letty knew she was hiding something. Did they kiss? Something more? Letty had so many options to think of.

"Okay then! He told me I'm beautiful" Mae shouted and started blushing as hard as she could.
"Are you kidding me? Maeve Kristine Toretto! You didn't tell me that" Did Letty just use her full name? It meant a serious situation.
"He was drunk- he didn't mean it" Mae just said awkwardly, covering her face with her hands.
"Drunk words are sober thoughts, remember that" Letty said. That had point, Mae thought. Letty's phone interrupted her thinking about what her best friend had just said. Someone called her.

"It's Dom" Letty rolled her eyes, picking up phone. The fun ended here, time for the work. After a minute, Letty ended the call with the word "Okay".
"We should come, he didn't say anything else" said Letty and they both started to get up from the towel they were lying on. Mae pulled her shorts on over her bikini bottoms.
"He is trying to be mysterious" Mae laughed as she packed all their stuff.

Brian was standing by the garage with some wrecked car, everyone was making fun of him.
"Pop the hood!" Brian said with a chuckle, Dom chuckling back. "Pop the hood?" Dom asked, nodding at Jesse to do it.
"A two J-Z engine? No shit!" Jesse's voice went more excited as he admired the engine and the other parts of the car.

You know what? This will decimate all after you put about fifteen grand in it, or more if we have to. We can get overnight parts from Japan" Jesse explained.
"We'll put it on my tab at Harry's" Dom replied to him.
"You work at Harry's, right?" Mae looked at Brian. He nodded.

"You're working at Harry's no more, you work here now" Dom told Brian with smile. That meant Brian and Mae will see way more often.
"I gotta get you racing, so i can make money of your ass. There's a show down in desert called Race wars and that's what we do" Dom continued. Mae felt kinda offended by the thing about Race wars. It was her thing.
"If you can't find the right tool in this garage, Mister Arizona, you don't belong near the car" Dom and Brian laughed. Mae loved to see how these two get along together. Finally.
Everyone went to the office to talk about some things about the new engine. They wanted possibly to order other parts from Japan. Only Brian and Mae stayed in the garage.

"He owns you now" Brian sat on the edge of the hood of one of the cars, Mae leaned against his thighs and tilted closer to his face.
"I prefer you to own me" Brian smirked. Their lips were one inch apart. The passion was felt in the air.
"And also, don't be mad about the desert race, Miss Race wars" Brian said. He started laugh nervously.
"Brian, just shut up and kiss me" Mae whispered, Brian didn't even hesitate. She felt his soft lips on hers. They both wanted this to last forever.

"I will be mad how long I want to" Mae smiled after she pulled away from him, even though she didn't want to. She turned around and walked out of the garage. Brian watched her, especially her ass, until she disappeared around the corner.
Brian stayed alone in the garage, constantly smiling about what just happened. He thought about what he will do next. He already knew that Mae was the girl he would do anything for. He was over the heels in love.

"Stop thinking about dirty things, dinner's almost ready" Mae appeared and leaned against the garage door. Her smile didn't fade since that kiss.

"I am definitely not thinking about dirty things" Brian walked forwards Mae. He put his hands on her hips, pulling her closer to him.
"Fuck off, buster" Mae started laughing uncontrollably. Brian loved that girl's humor.
"Don't ever call me that again!" He tried to be serious, but he just couldn't. When Brian saw Mae smiling, he needed immediately too. Her smile was his favourite thing.
"Shut up" she rolled her eyes. Mae grabbed his hand, dragging him into the backyard.

Mae and Mia finished doing the meat on the grill, the boys sat at the table with beers in their hands and talked about cars. Letty was in the house, making some drinks. Mae was happy that everyone showed up, even Vince, who wasn't thrilled about Brian starting to work with them.

"Since when are you that smiley?" Mia looked at her older sister, that looked like she was in a completely different universe.
"Doesn't matter" It did matter. Even though Mia and Mae were sisters, they didn't talk much. They just could go days without having a full conversation. How was it possible when they lived in the same house? Easy, Mae and Mia were completely opposites. Mae was sassy and bitchy most of the time, but Mia always tried to be kind and friendly. Mia was also always thinking about her future, stressing about tomorrow's. Mae simply lived in the present, enjoying every moment, every emotion. They didn't have a subject to talk about together. It almost felt like they were sisters by blood, not by heart. This hurt Dom so much.

"Is it because of him?" Mia turned around to the table, nodding at Brian.
"Yeah, we turned out like good friends lately" Mae said. Brian noticed Mae looking at him and smiled.
"Mae look, I know we talk like once a week, but i wish you the best because you deserve it. You're my big sister" The Toretto's sisters hugged.
"Dinner is ready!" Mia yelled. Letty helped them serve it to the boys. Mae sat next to the Brian.
Jesse who was hungry all day, couldn't look at his chicken any more, so he grabbed the piece of it.

"Ha! You say the grace" Dom pointed at him, everyone started laughing. Jesse rolled his eyes, but still stood up proudly to say the grace. He wasn't good at saying graces, but still, he was grateful to be here with his family. Everyone was.

When they finished dinner, they all moved into the house. Mae was doing the dishes, Mia was upstairs in her room and Letty was helping her with her homework and the boys were drinking and watching TV.
"Wanna help?" Brian appeared behind Mae, asking her.
"It's okay, go enjoy the movie" Mae said, grabbing another plate.
"I do not really enjoy being in the same room with Vince" Brian told her, making both  of them smile. Brian grabbed a towel, drying the dishes after Mae ended up washing them.
"You know, we should go to dinner sometime" Brian said, Mae smiled at this offer, trying not to make oblivious all the butterflies she had in her stomach.

"I don't date my brother's friends" Mae stopped washing the plate, she looked at Brian and smiled.
"Wow. That sucks. I guess I'll have to kick his ass then" A little smile appeared on his face, he knew Mae would go no matter what. It was oblivious, they had thing for each other.

Vince entered the kitchen, his drunk ass was already annoyed when he saw Mae and Brian standing there together. He grabbed the popcorn from the kitchen corner, trying to put it inside the microwave.

"Wash my car when you get done" Vince muttered under his breath. Brian and Mae rolled their eyes, because Vince ruined their moment. Again.
"Excuse me?" Mae crossed her arms, getting more and more irritated by Vince. Now Brian understood why she hated him. He always acted cocky, but it got worse when he was drunk.

"I'm not talking to you, Maeve. I'm talking to the punk" Vince smiled. Mae had enough of this, she turned around and continued with washing the last plate. Brian did the same, grabbing the towel. He tried to ignore Vince.
"If you want to kick someone's ass, start with him please" Mae said, trying to be quiet because Vince was still in the room.
"Hey Vince, what's the Cuban restaurant called? The one you always wanted to take me to?" Mae asked, Vince thought his chance finally came, Mae will finally expect his date offer. But it was completely opposite.

"Cha Cha Cha" Vince smiled at her question.
"You can take me there" Mae turned at Brian, pointing at him with a smile. Vince finally left the room, leaving the two love birds alone.
"Friday at ten?" Mae asked and Brian nodded with a smile.
