As we were on the brink of a kiss, the soft whispers of approaching footsteps disrupted the enchanting moment. Swiftly, I reacted, placing my hand over Zade's mouth to stifle any potential sound. Signaling for silence with a finger pressed to my lips, Zade, surprised, complied, and I carefully pulled him down to be less conspicuous.

Huddled together, we waited in silence until the intruders passed. Once the coast was clear, I whispered, "We're safe," and Zade, still close, finally relaxed.

Concern crept into my voice as I noticed his distant expression. "Are you alright, Zade?"

He responded, "I am fine," but there was an unusual weight to his words. Worried, I continued, "I thought you passed out!"

"I wish I was," he admitted, revealing a vulnerability that surprised me.

"Are you nervous?" I teased, attempting to lighten the mood.

"No!" he retorted, but the blush on his face betrayed him.

As we shifted positions, Zade ended up underneath me, his face turned away, burning with embarrassment. Playfully, I turned around to face him. "You look so cute."

Zade, seizing the opportunity, warned, "Careful."

With a giggle, I remarked, "That's what you deserved."

Zade, undeterred, sat up, lifting me onto his lap. He cautioned, a playful glint in his eyes.

Giggling again, I responded, "Consider it a lesson learned."

As Zade and I made our way back to the grand ballroom, we immersed ourselves in the lively atmosphere, exchanging pleasantries with the other guests. Zade proudly presented me as his fiancée, and the room buzzed with congratulations, enveloping us in a festive ambiance.

Amidst the joyous celebration, I was fueled by a few too many drinks, joined by Sophia and Zoe. While I observed Siriyah engaged in conversation with Hestia and other men, my trust in Siriyahs gesture to help Abigail remained hesitant. Dwelling on these thoughts, I continued to indulge in drinks.

Zoe laughed, "You are quite the enthusiast!"

Sophia added, "You should watch yourself before you make a fool out of yourself." Their laughter was seemingly light-hearted, but beneath the surface, a subtle mockery lingered.

Confidently, I replied, "What are you talking about? I am completely fine!" Despite my assurance, a slight headache lingered, likely a consequence of the stressful events.

"We can see that. Would you like more?" Zoe offered, the seemingly innocent question veiling a hint of amusement.

"Too bad they don't have stronger ones!" Sophia chuckled, the laughter carrying a playful mockery.

"I can handle another shot, bring it in, ladies!" I declared, my laughter resonating through the hall, a signal of my spirited enjoyment of the night. Zade, noticing my spirited state, decided to step in to offer his assistance.

Approaching me with characteristic charm, Zade extended a steadying hand as I teetered slightly. "Isadora, let me lend you a hand. Looks like you've been enjoying the party."
