When I saw Abigail and Hestia bickering, I felt a surge of frustration, but my determination to help Abigail overpowered it. As I approached them, Siriyah, astutely recognizing my intentions, hurriedly stepped in to hold me back.
"Wait, Isadora! Hold on!" Siriyah cautioned.
"Leave me alone!" I snapped, my frustration evident.
"Let's think this through, okay? If you act impulsively, not only will your reputation suffer, but it could also impact the Hampten family. There are consequences, and I've seen it happen countless times!" Siriyah explained, trying to instil reason.
"But Hestia, she acts with such impunity everywhere! Why doesn't she face any consequences?" I questioned, bewildered.
"Because she's wealthy and well-connected. If something were to happen to her, the repercussions would extend to everyone involved," Siriyah clarified, her tone reflecting the harsh reality.
"So it's all about power? That's not fair!" I exclaimed, frustration lingering.
"It's not fair, but it's the way things work. We have to be smarter about this. I don't like her either, but we don't have a choice," Siriyah said, emphasizing the pragmatic approach.
"What can we do to help Abigail?" I inquired, shifting my focus to finding a solution.
"We..." Siriyah scanned the room, spotting Adam with Zade. "Go to Zade and Adam, don't act suspicious, and try to hint that Abigail needs help."
"Why would they help?" I questioned, sceptical.
"I have a feeling Adam likes Abigail. If he steps in and helps her, it might make a difference," Siriyah suggested.
"Fine, I'll do my best," I reluctantly agreed.
"Thank you," Siriyah said with a reassuring smile.
As I approached Zade and Adam without a clear plan, I resolved to act persuasively.
"You returned quickly," Zade observed.
"Yeah, I wanted to be with you," I replied, attempting to appear casual.
"Should I leave?" Adam offered, sensing a desire for privacy.
I noticed a nearby wine stand next to Abigail, realizing it could be an opportune moment. Hestia's irritation seemed to intensify.
"I thin -" I interrupted Zade.
"Could you please get me a glass of wine? I would really appreciate it," I requested, subtly guiding Adam away from the escalating conflict.
"Sure, I can do that," Adam said, turning to Zade and giving him a friendly pat on the shoulder.
Observing Adam heading toward the wine stand, I turned to Zade, who smirked knowingly.
"It seems you missed me," Zade teased, lifting my chin.
"I-Zade!" I stammered, blushing. "Not in public!"
"Sorry, I didn't know you were the shy type," he playfully remarked.
Zade noticed Adam with Abigail, validating the success of my plan. "Oh, look at that."
I saw Abigail and Adam holding hands and walking away, suggesting that the plan had indeed worked.
"Does he like her?" I asked Zade.
