Hi! I've mentioned previously that this is my first time writing any type of official story so whilst I'm excited, I'm a little apprehensive at the same time! Also for anyone new, I'm commonly going in and updating certain chapters and editing them to a more proficient manner, if you will. In terms of uploading new chapters, Im still attaining myself to a schedule but this story is something I work on daily and will not abandon.
I've had this idea for months now and part of what inspired me to put it into action was reading other fanfics tvdu related (shout out to all the hosie fics, they're my fav) and I'm such a stan for hayley and rebekah, I love them and really wish we could've seen them together more in the show, not to mention I absolutely LOVE Phoebe Tonkin and Claire Holt <3
Anyways, I personally have always had a strong passion for writing as it's one of my strong suits be it poems, short stories, letters, etc, and now this! Which as I mentioned above is nerve racking as it's my first time writing an official story so this is all pretty new to me but i'm very passionate and optimistic it about as i'm really just doing what i love.
Now enough mindless rambling and onto some important things to keep in mind when reading this story:
-overall story takes place within the 2012-2013 era, nostalgia is what i'm aiming for
- this is a slow burn story (because I hate when fics are rushed argh) so things are going to slowly but surely unfold in both good and bad ways, i want this to be a roller coaster so lots to look forward to
- definitions will be provided in the comments, I strive to use big vocabulary therefore you can count on me to include big words with the definitions side noted, and ofc if there is one I miss, please feel free to ask and I will be happy to answer
- about Hayley, she comes from an abusive background in this so there definitely will be parts where it gets quite dark and sensitive, i will put trigger warnings at the top of those chapters
- this takes place in england so certain words/terms may not be how they are used so commonly outside of it for ex, in this book the girls are on the soccer team together however in england, soccer is called football which is how it will be called in the book
- it won't necessarily follow tvdu storyline so PLEASE don't attack me for not including more tvdu characters, i might include Rebekah's siblings but aside of that not many tvdu references
- this is MY story therefore i'm writing it how I planned it out so likewise to what the note before this one states, please don't attack me for not making it more 'lore accurate' to tvdu, that being said i wanted to dive deeper into Hayley's storyline and kind of make it my own creation given that in the show there's not much about her background
and lastly, I kind of can't emphasize enough just how new to this I really am 😅 not just story writing but wattpad writing so I feel like i'm still learning things on this app, and as far as updates go i'm gonna call myself out here: I do have a tendency to become inconsistent, however, i already have chapters pre written so the plan is to write ahead and always have a couple ready on hand to upload. I will do my best to be frequent in updates :)
