ONCE classes were finished and Hayley was done for the day, she was off to meet Robert where her car was parked in the lot off campus.

Leaning up against her car, practically laying on it, there he was holding a cigar to his mouth.

"Looking to get lung cancer are we?" Hayley sassed while approaching him.

He sneered, "Ya finish those 18 vape cartridges yet?"

Hayley looked to him with a soul-piercing stare. She had been battling that addiction for months now and he hasn't been making it any easier by supplying her ruthlessly.

"Get off my damn car, you pest!" She said while shoving him off, Robert laughing ridiculously.

"And never mind the bloody vapes! Will you help me today or not?"

Robert scrunched his face for a second, "Eh, depends, what do I get out of it?"

"A fucking beating, how's that?" Hayley jeered. Robert gave her a suggestive look, one which Hayley was all too quick to catch where she had made her mistake, "knock it off you wad, I'll give you a drive, but that's all you're getting from me."

"A'right but I'm not paying for gas."

"I'm not asking you to, now get in."

The drive back to her house wasn't pleasant to say the least, between Robert back seat driving as well as startling her with phrases such as "HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THAT?!" as he points somewhere off road in attempt to throw her off guard, it felt more like a Fast and Furious film with constant dodging cars along the way and occasional road blocks.

About halfway through, Robert begged and pleaded for Hayley to make a stop so they could grab something to eat and even though she was actually in favor of that, she knew her father and remembered his words that rang through her head the whole way home: don't come late. For most people that would only mean to be quick however most wouldn't go through severe consequences the way Hayley would/has when she's broken that rule with her father in the past.

Robert took out his phone, "Look, I'll put in an online order that way we can just drive by and pick it up from the place."

"No, Robert." Hayley insisted, "You've no clue, 'don't come late' isn't just a saying, it's a rule with him. I'm not looking to get my arse beaten today... or any for that matter."

She looked over to him only to see he was already placing an order for Subway which ironically was another 30 minutes to drive.

"Robert so help me lord," Hayley began, her voice stern and harsh. "If you place that o-"

"Already done." he said proudly with the kind of smile a toddler gives after showing a drawing to their mother.

Hayley was fuming inside, though she couldn't show it. She learnt that it became best not to make her emotions visible to Robert as he would use them against her or to manipulate her for his own good.

So instead, despite feeling ready to kick the guy out of her car and run him over back and forth a good 10-20 times, she simply kept a nonchalant look on her face, "We're not going to get that order."

"I beg your pardon?" he sassed, flashing her a somewhat offended look.

Hayley smirked "Good job wasting money on an order you won't get."

Robert furrowed his brows "I deserve this for what I'm doing. I shouldn't even be helping you wi-"

"What you fucking deserve, is to have your head caved in! And even so, that would be too much of a kind gesture for someone as treacherous as you are!" Hayley snapped. "You're the goddamn reason I'm having to do these kinds of errands in the first place and that's not even the worst part about being associated with you!"
