Surprise Part 1

~Timeline is 5 months into the epilogue after the king-cinera~

Matt's POV
I just finished rebuilding a new house with Kikimora. I didn't like working with her especially with what happened during the D.O.U but she was a lot nicer and actually pretty good help. After finishing up cleaning the debris left over from construction. I ran to the University of Wild Magic which was Eda's school which she founded. I wanted to surprise Gus since he would've just finished teaching his human realm program. I used a construction spell to boost me up to where Gus's platform was since I didn't have a pallisman yet.  Gus was standing there waving to one of the kids who was just now leaving. Gus hadn't seen me yet and was putting his stuff away.

I walked behind him and hugged him. "Ahhhhh help I'm being attacked!" Gus screamed. I laughed super hard and let go. "MATTY?!" Gus turned around in shock. "You can't do that you scared the Titan out of me dude!" He exclaimed with a smile on his face. "I wanted to surprise you" I said shrugging and smiling. "Awwwh you're so sweet" Gus said hugging me. I hugged him back. He let go his hands on my shoulders. "You got my uniform all dirty!" He said pretending to be upset. "That was the plan all along! In fact that's the only reason I came to visit you. I definitely didn't get us a reservation at Eat Like A Titan Buffet or anything." I said flicking my hair with a cocky smile on my face.

Gus's eyes widened and he let out a gasp and started to violently shake me back and forth. "You didn't! That place is so expensive and it's like impossible to get reservations! Matty I love you so much I can't believe you!" Matt hugged me super tight pinning my arms to my side so I couldn't even hug him back. Gus let go and gave me a kiss on the cheek. My face turned bright red. Before I could respond Gus grabbed me and swung me around in a circle. He set me down with a giant goofy grin on his face. I laughed "I know it's your favorite and plus we've been officially dating for like a year now?" I said smiling with one hand on the side of his face. "It has? Damn time went by fast" Gus said looking at me with a smile. I laughed and put both my hands behind his neck.

Gus put his forehead on mine and we sat there for a minute. We separated foreheads and Gus put his hand on the side of my face. He then kissed my lips and I kissed back  when we let go I whispered loud enough for him to hear "I love you." He smiled and whispered "I love you too."

"Hey Goops I'm going to head back to the Owl House Luz was wonder-" Eda said walking down the stairs to the side of Gus's station she was on her scroll but cut off what she was saying when she looked up and saw Gus and I. "Get a room guys seriously!" Eda said rolling her eyes and putting her scroll in her pocket. "I let go of Gus as if I had been caught committing a crime which I don't think I was? Last time I checked kissing your boyfriend briefly isn't a crime?

"Come on Eda you and Raine kiss all the time at work" Gus said rolling his eyes with one hand on his waist. "Touché kid" Eda said looking at Gus defeated. "Alright be gay or whatever I really don't care but Luz was wondering if you wanted to go to the human realm tonight for a sleepover or something. Eda said turning Owlbert into a staff. "Tell her I'd love too but I can't I have a date with a mysterious and wonderful man" Gus said proudly. Eda scoffed and smiled. I gave Gus an intrigued look. "I'm leaving before you guys start flirting or whatever." Eda said giving us a weird face and flying off on Owlbert.

"Augustus?! You're seeing someone? I'm truly intrigued who could this mysterious wonderful man be?" I said surprised and jokingly. "Well you see he's short, has really short hair most of it is partially buzzed, gorgeous dark eyes, a cute but goofy smile, he's a  construction worker and is just the best boyfriend!" Gus said enthusiastically. I smiled blushing a little "He sounds wonderful I'd love to meet him" I said with a smile, my heart felt all warm and fuzzy. "Hear me out... what if I said you Mattholomule, were my boyfriend." He said softly smiling. "No way! I am? I wasn't aware I had such a fantastic and powerful boyfriend." I said. We just both burst out laughing and he called for Emmiline. Emmiline scurried over and turned into a staff. Gus got on the staff standing up like he usually did. I got on and wrapped my arms his waist. He looked back at me "you ready?" He asked. I nodded, I had gotten more comfortable with flying but it still kinda mad me anxious. "Want me to take you to my house or yours?" He asked. "I think Steve is hanging out with Lilith- he said something about a trampoline park in the human realm?" I said. Lilith and Steve were really good friends so they hung out a lot. "That sounds sick! Luz never took me to one of those we should go sometime" Gus said smiling very, VERY excited. I couldn't help but smile back. I loved his hyper fixations. "Ok so my house?" He asked. I nodded. We flew off towards his house which wasn't too far away.
