Nick was sitting in his office when he received word from Maria Hill that a Hydra base had been found. When she suggested that she go, Nick refused to let her go to the base saying that if she suddenly left the S.H.I.E.L.D building suddenly without saying anything to Alexander Pierce about their finding, it would look suspicious, and S.H.I.E.L.D would crack down on him and make it difficult to try and take down Hydra and all of their bases, in attempts of keeping them from causing chaos and taking control of the world.

"So, what are you going to do? You can't let this Hydra base go unchecked. There could be helpful information at the base that could give us a clue as to what they are up to, where the other bases are, and what else they could be hiding from us," Maria Hill said.

"You don't think I don't know that? I want more than anything to take out Hydra once and for all. We have been doing this since Captain America's time when he became a hero. Just when we thought we got all of the bases, another one seems to pop up at random. Which is why I'm hoping that when we send some agents over to this base, we can find something that will give us a clue as to where the others are, that way we can take them out and bring peace to the world, and not have to worry about Hydra causing chaos," Nick said. "But I can't run the risk of letting you go to the base, because it would raise much more suspicion than I want to raise. I want to keep the search of this Hydra base secret, that way we don't raise any worry among the public, should they somehow find out about this sudden discovery of ours," Nick explained.

"How are you planning on going and searching that base, if you don't allow me to go? I'm one of the agents that is on your side, that you can trust to send to that base and report back of any findings that I find there," Maria argued.

"And if I send you over there, I will have Alexander Pierce on my back, questioning me as to why I didn't run anything by him, to get it clear to send agents to this base. Not only that, trying to convince him that there could be something useful there. He won't go for it. He will only say that by sending agents over there would be a waste of time on our part and on the part of the agents that are heading over there. Now you see why I have to keep this under wraps away from Alexander," Nick asked.

"I understand, but do you have an agent who is willing to go to this base and lead a handful of agents who would be sent over with them," Maria asked.

"I know of someone who could get the information that we need gathered. I'm more than sure that she would be willing to go over there and do a little snooping around. And all while she's over there, I can keep in touch with her and have her report to me about what she finds while she walks through the base," Nick said. "Agent Romanov would be perfect for this and wouldn't draw any attention to herself from Alexander Pierce. I noticed that he doesn't really pay any mind to her,"

"I hope that you know what you're doing. Actually, scratch that. I know you know what you are doing. I know that you trust Romanov. That and she has the skill that could be useful if there is something on locked files," Maria said. "When are you planning on telling Romanov of this plan to send her and a few agents to this base that has been found?"

"You called for me Fury," Natasha said from behind Maria. "Agent Hill. I wasn't aware that you were part of this mission."

"I'm not. I was actually asking Fury if he would send me on this mission, but he refuses to do so, because he fears that it will draw too much suspicion from Alexander Pierce," Maria explained.

Natasha turned her attention to Nick. "Why would you keep her from coming on this mission along with me? Agent Hill could be of use. She's got plenty of useful skills that could help us."

"And it would draw too much unwanted attention from Alexander should he see that Agent Hill should be sent on this mission along with you and a few others who I feel Alexander wouldn't notice are missing. Agent Hill can keep Pierce distracted should he start asking any questions about you and the others missing," Fury explained.

Natasha nodded her head in understanding. "I can see your point. When do you plan on getting this mission started?"

"As soon as you feel ready to head out, though the sooner you are ready, the sooner we can send you out and you can return with your findings," Fury explained.

"I'm ready to go right now. Like you said, the sooner we get this mission started, we can go look around and see if there is something that could help us get rid of any Hydra agents or draw them out and then eliminate them. The sooner I as well as the other agents can return with our findings. We can then get started on making a plan for the next move," Natasha said.

"Go and wait by the jet and I will have a few agents who are trustworthy to go on this mission with you, that won't mind taking orders from you," Nick said before Natasha nodded again before walking away from Nick.

Agent Hill gave Fury a look of concern. "I hope you know what you're doing by going through with this. Because if Pierce finds out about this, we both won't hear the end of this, and how Pierce feels that you are sending all agents on a wild goose chase, chasing a theory that you don't have any proof to prove your reason for going through with all of this."

"That is a bridge that I will cross when it comes to it. Right now, I'm going with my gut feeling, that there is something there that can help us. I just don't have a clue as to what it is yet, but I feel that there is something that can help us find what we need," Nick said.

A bunch of agents stand outside of a Hydra base, that appears to be abandoned. No one wanting to take the risk and go marching in, wait for the orders from the one in charge of the mission, letting them know when to charge inside and attack those who may be hiding within the walls.

Natasha scanned the area looking for any heat signals that could be walking around, giving her any idea of how many Hydra agents could be walking around the base. Natasha gave the other agents with her the signal to move in, but kept their eyes peeled for any sneak attacks.

Quietly Natasha and the other agents walked in, splitting up and looking for any clues as to what Hydra was working on, hiding or planning. Keeping weapons raised in case they had to defend themselves against any threats that were waiting. Natasha made her way from room to room, looking around trying to find anything that could give her any information. When she didn't find anything that she could use, she would make her way to the next room, until she came across a container that seemed to be working and keeping something frozen.

Natasha walked closer looking into the window of the Cyro chamber, seeing that it contained a young woman. Who are you; and how on earth did you manage to get yourself in there, Natasha thought to herself as she looked around and noticed a file on the desk close by the Cyro chamber.

Natasha walked over to the file, opening it up and seeing that the young woman in the chamber had been in there for quite a bit of time. This could be helpful. Maybe this young woman could help fill in information that we need to know about Hydra. Maybe while we're at it, we can find out what they did to her, Natasha thought to herself, before calling the other agents in to help her get the girl out and bring her back to the S.H.I.E.L.D building in the lab where they could begin to defrost the girl. While the agents were moving her to the plane, Natasha was quick to gather any information from the computers, as well as grabbing files, and packing them away, before following the rest of the agents back to the jet.

After a while Natasha and the agents made it back to the building, all while secretly moving the frozen girl to the lab, where they brought her to thaw out, without anyone else knowing that she was down there. Natasha stayed by the girl, keeping guard of her, before reaching for her phone calling Fury.

Natasha waited until Fury answered his phone, not giving him time to greet her. "Fury, I know you are a busy man, but there is something that I need you to come see. Do you think you can spare a moment to come down to the lab? Don't tell anyone else where you are coming. This is something that was found at an abandoned Hydra base.

Fury gave an annoyed sigh before replying to Natasha. "I'm on my way." Both hung up the phone. Natasha then turned her attention back to the young woman who was on the table thawing out.

What have you seen while you were trapped in that base? Even better question, what the hell did you go through while you stuck at that base, Natasha thought to herself.
