Olwen shook her head with a small smile on her face. "Oh Nat, I have been wanted for quite a long time now. Did you forget that I have the Winter Soldier himself chasing me? So, I'm used to running to keep myself out of his grasp. It's nothing that I haven't been doing."
"Right well, you will have to be ready to run again, because now we have S.H.I.E.L.D agents coming for us. They're coming because Alexander Pierce ordered them to come after us," Natasha explained.
Olwen shuddered at hearing Alexander Pierce's name. "I can do without having to see or speak to Alexander Pierce. But if we're going to make the grand escape, then we should split up. Since the two of you look pretty close, you both can go down the escalator and pose as a couple if you have to. I will take the stairs and meet the both of you in the parking garage, where you both can choose a vehicle for us to get out of here and hopefully get somewhere safe away from the agents who hunt us now."
"Are you sure that you will be alright with making your way down the stairs, knowing that you run the risk of getting caught," Steve asked with concern lacing his tone.
"I'll be fine. And if I see any agents coming my way, I know what to do. But if we stand here any longer, then we will be caught for sure. We can have this discussion once we are somewhere safe," Olwen said before walking away from Steve and Natasha.
Steve was about to chase after Olwen, but was stopped by Natasha grabbing hold of Steve's arm stopping him. "Steve, it's alright. We can trust Olwen. I believe that this time, she will be more careful while making her way to the parking garage. But if we continue to stand here, then we won't be able to do anything to help keep Olwen safe from being brought back to the man who gives her nightmares."
"Right. Let's get a move on then," Steve said leading Natasha towards the escalator.
Both Steve and Natasha did what they had to, to keep out of Rumlow and all of the other agents' sights, making their way to the parking garage where they found Olwen waiting for them.
"Olwen, you're here. Did any of the agents spot you on your way down," Steve asked.
"You have nothing to worry about Steve. I managed to make it down to the garage with little to no issue. How about you guys," Olwen asked.
"Wish we could say the same thing, but we managed to have a run in with Rumlow. He was going up while we were coming down," Natasha said as she, Olwen and Steve made their way through the parking lot, looking for a car that would help them blend in, and not draw too much attention as Natasha's car would. After a bit of time, Olwen grew impatient.
"Will you pick a damn care already before Rumlow grows some damn brain cells, and sends someone down here to check the parking lot for us," Olwen snapped at Steve before he made his way over to a pickup truck with Natasha and Olwen following behind him.
"Climb in ladies, and let's take a trip to New Jersey," Steve said as they all climbed into the truck.
"Why on earth are we heading all the way to New Jersey," Olwen asked confused.
"It's where we will get more answers concerning the flash drive," Natasha explained.
"I thought that was why you were at the apple store," Olwen asked in confusion.
"We tried, but the file kept rewriting itself, preventing me from hacking into it to find out what is on it," Natasha explained.
"Alright. Wake me up once we're at our destination," Olwen said before laying down to take a nap.
"Is she seriously going to sleep the whole way there," Steve asked.
"Let her sleep. We don't know what kind of hell they put her through when they took her away, while you were talking to Pierce," Natasha stood up for the young woman.
"We could always wake her up and ask her about it,' Steve suggested.
"Let her sleep a bit. When she's ready, then she will tell us what happened. But you don't want to force anything out of her. You do that, then she will really close herself off," Natasha explained.
"Hopefully your advice doesn't backfire. I would like Olwen to trust us enough that she would open up on her own to us," Steve said as he drove to their destination in New Jersey.
"And she will. But you have to be patient with her and allow her to make her way to you and talk about what she's keeping from you," Natasha said before changing the subject.
After a while, Olwen woke up to Steve and Natasha arguing about needing practice to kiss.
Olwen rolled her eyes as she sat up in the backseat. "Will the both of you stop acting like damn children? God, one of you is olde enough to be a grandpa, and the other is a grown ass adult."
"Language," Steve warned Olwen.
"I agree with Steve. Are you old enough to be using such language," Natasha replied in a playful tone, causing Olwen to glare at her.
"Do you really want to go there? Because the last I checked, I'm technically older than you, though it doesn't look like it. Guess you can say I almost fall under the same category as Steve here. Always looking youthful as we gain another year under our belts," Olwen said.
"Alright, you got me," Natasha said.
"Good. Remember to show respect to grandpa here," Olwen said earning a look from Steve, before glancing out the window. "Where the hell are we?"
"Our final destination...the very place where we managed to track the origin of this flash drive," Natasha said as she, Steve and Olwen got out of the truck. "Look familiar, Cap?"
"Yeah. It's where I was created," Steve said looking like he was getting lost, while traveling down memory lane.
"Hey Steve, now isn't exactly a good time for you to go and get lost while taking a stroll down memory lane," Olwen said.
"This was where I was first started training, before I was injected with the super soldier serum," Steve explained.
"I'm not picking up on any heatwaves. And it looks like there isn't anyone here. Let alone this place hasn't seen any form of life, in quite some time," Natasha said.
"The weapons are too close," Steve said while leading Olwen and Natasha to the base building.
Once inside Steve and Natasha looked around for any clue to lead them to where the flash drive can be plugged in, while Olwen walked over to the wall, where there were three pictures hanging. Olwen was lost in thought when Natasha and Steve came up beside her.
"The founders of S.H.I.E.L.D," Natasha said before noticing Steve looking at the picture of Peggy Carter. "That's Peggy Carter. You know her?"
