Alex eventually made her way to sleep after turning on her emotions the night prior. Derek didn't leave her side and stayed with her until she finally settled. She wakes up the nect morning to the sound of her phone buzzing. Different people trying to call her and she simply ignored it as she tried to head back to sleep. But she couldn't find it. She sat up with a groan and picked up her phone to look at the numerous text's she had received from Damon. Apparently all of the Originals were now awake and Rebekah tried to kill Elena. She jumped out of her bed and began to get changed to help them out when she heard someone approaching her room.

"Where are you going?" Derek questions, seeing as she was now fully dressed even though she had just woken up.

"The originals are all awake, tried to kill Elena." Alex responds, turning to look at him and freezes at his concerned look. "I need to keep my mind off it, Derek."

"You've just woken up from a 2 month humanity-less blood binge and are finally reacting to your father dying. I think you can give it a skip." Derek argues. "Stay in. At least for today. Then you can be back to saving the world tomorrow."

"You say that like it's easy." Alex disagrees.

"Have breakfast, blood or normal. Then we'll go out. Your staying away from the supernatural stuff." Derek tells her.

"Who are you? My dad?" Alex scoffs but freezes as she realises what she said, thrown back into her grief from the night before.

"Stay in bed all day, cry. Be a normal teenager." Derek comforts, placing a hand on her shoulder as she deflates. She slowly nods her head and makes her way to the kitchen, pulling out a blood bag. She hesitates before having a small drink from the pouch. This was the first time she had drank blood with emotions, it made her feel strange. It was almost as if it was foreign to her. Derek stands making pancakes at their hob. She says their because technically Derek owned the apartment, good tip to keep other vampires out. Something slides under the door, drawing both of their attentions before Alex heads to the door seeing two envelopes lay down. One was adressed to her and the other was addressed to Derek.

"Here." Alex tells him, handing him the similar looking envelope. She pulls it open and reads the contents. "Please join the Mikaelson Family, this evening at seven o'clock for dancing, cocktails and celebration." Alex reads aloud, looking at Derek's who says the same thing.

"Did you tell anyone i was back in town?" Derek asks and she nods remembering when she told Klaus last night, Derek then gestures to Alex. "There's something on the back of yours."

Alex frowns as she flips it over. 'Hopefully we can catch up this time - Elijah'. Her demeanour softens as she reads Elijah's words. She felt bad for what she done to him yesterday, he was just trying to help.

"We're going." Derek tells her, a shocking turn of events after he insisted that they were staying out of supernatural drama for the day. But Alex didn't see the expression on her face as she read Elijah's note. But Derek did.

"What happened to staying in?" Alex counters.

"It'll keep your mind off things." Derek shrugs, placing his envelope on the counter. "I didn't get a fancy note on mine though."

"Funny." Alex scoffs, moving to the fridge where she kept the bottles of vervain before taking a sip out of one of them. She coughed and placed the bottle back onto the bench as she caught her breath. "That's easier without emotions." She cringes, getting her bearings again before drinking more of the concoction.

"At least you're now yourself." Derek shrugs, moving over to the pan that he was cooking some eggs on. He took it off the stove and Alex stared at him with a sad look.
