So, that is what Alex set out to do. She was going to help Abby Bennett with her transformation. Well, she was until she got a phone call from Damon explaining everything that was happening to Ric. She needed to get over to them, so she dropped Abby back off at her cabin with the promise of her return after Gilbert's house; she helped Elena with Ric.

She makes her way inside after already being invited in by the youngest Gilbert. "Hey guys." She says, looking over to Elena and Alaric. "Sorry, I was just by Bonnies." She sits beside Elena as Alaric writes something down on his notepad. "What's going on?"

"Listen, I want both of you to have this." He slides it across to them, and they share a look before glancing over the information they received. "This is a list of my bank accounts, passwords, where to find my will, and how to contact my family, just in case this doesn't go my way."

Alex and Elena sigh before sliding the notebook back across to Alaric. "No, no, no. Don't even think like that."

"Elena, I need to know that you and Jeremy are going to be okay. You too, Alex," Alaric says, looking between the two.

"I'll make sure they're looked after, Ric." She tells him, and they share a short look—one of appreciation on Ric's end as he knows she'll fulfil her promise. We're all going to be fine." They're interrupted by Elena's phone ringing.

"Caroline?" She answers.

"So, Abby thinks Bonnie can reverse the damage of the spell. I guess this same thing happens to witches who get obsessed with dark magic. They lose control and start action out their darkest impulses." Caroline explains over the phone as Elena moves away from Ric.

"Thank you so much." Elena smiles.

"I'm gonna hang back here with Abby since Alex has made her way over to you guys. But Bonnie is leaving now, so.." She trails off. "Hold on."

"I need a personal effect of Alaric's, something he wore before he started wearing the ring." Bonnie tells Elena.

"Okay, yeah, i-i'll get it. Bonnie, i'm so sorry for everything. Thank you for doing this." Elena says.

"Be ready to do the spell as soon as I get there. We have to work fast. I'll see you both soon," Bonnie says, hanging up rather quickly so Elena couldn't say another word.

"Good news? Bad news?" Alaric wonders.

"Bonnie thinks that she can help with a spell. But she needs something which you wore before you put on the ring. Something personal." Alex explains, looking at him expectedly.

"My wedding ring. It's at the loft." Alaric responds.

"Okay, yeah, uh, that's a good idea." Elena agrees, ready to head over. Alaric goes to stand up, but Meredith pushes him back down.

"I think it's better if you stay here with me." Meredith tells him.

"With us." Alex corrects, not willing to leave them alone together.

Alaric lets out a sigh and turns to Elena. "It's in the dresser by the kitchen. It's in an aspirin bottle, probably covered in cobwebs."

"Okay." Elena nods, looking at Alex and Meredith as she leaves. Alex and Meredith go to the Kitchen as Alaric lies on the couch.

"Listen to me." Alex whispers, staring at Meredith, who looks quite spooked at the hybrid. "If things go sideways, you run. Okay?"

"What?" Meredith questions.

"If things go wrong, you run and don't look back. I'm a hybrid. I can handle Ric; you get yourself out of here," Alex tells her, she slowly nods her head. "Hey, Ric, are you still with us?" Alex wonders, raising her voice back to a normal talking level.
